**SPOILERS**

So, I finally finished watching the series. I had seen up to season 3 before, so I rewatched it all including season 4.

What a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE ending. I just spend ~60 hours watching these episodes over the past week. And it ends like that? I really cannot believe the writers could be that bad. I could write better Scifi in my sleep; they are lucky they have connections at networks. Everything turns crappy once we find that Ellen is the final Cylon... IMO the show should have ended at S04E11, since that is when we find the answers to all the questions we had. What was the point of episodes 412 through 420? They were just a bunch of filler.

I just can't believe I got trolled at the end with Jimi Hendrix playing and Asimo getting into the groove.

like I said, turn the final episode off with about 5 minutes to go and you'll have one of the greatest series of all time.

Most shows don't get the ending right. Babylon 5 had an awful last season. Star Trek:TNG had a crappy ending, Andromeda had the worst final year of any series, ever. etc.
One that did the ending pretty good was Buffy, but they resorted to a deus ex machina.

I felt the writers boxed themselves in on BSG and were groping at the end. They also had to deal with the availability of actors. All in all, the great space scene and the twist that they came to earth in prehistoric times was an ok save.

You can please some of the people some of the time, etc etc. But you can't please ATOT at all.

Try watching LOST or Heroes, crappy endings.
I thoroughly believe that it's fairly impossible to end a drama show in a way that will make most people happy, but Lost did about as good as possible.

Who knows how Heroes ended. I stopped watching when the show became a joke after season 1 or 2, I forget.

And yes, the end of BSG sucked.

Could have gone better, but I didn't mind it. However, I do have one question, did they ever explain what the deal with Starbuck was? I honestly can't remember.

I was about to say the same thing. It's like all sci-fi writers know how to get a story going but end up trainwrecking when they try to slow it down for an end. The whole last season of B5 was a lot like the end of Lord of the Rings(the book, not the movies).

I know another guy who loved it and said by the end it was total sh*t he also regretted watching it. I stopped mid season 2 simply because I got a bit bored of the low production quality.

The bit about low production quality got me wondering. Has there ever been a sci-fi TV show with decent production quality? Clearly there are sci-fi movies with industry-setting production quality, but I think the budget situation for TV shows makes reasonable quality unfeasible.

Lost had very high production quality, but then again it is not purely a sci-fi show.

So what's the deal with the two people chatting about the future of humanity at the end of the finale on present day earth? Are they some kind of supernatural beings or something?

A few months back I watched the whole series Start to Finish. It was well worth it, even if it was redundant at times.

When I started predicting what would happen next I gave up, and I don't know if I even finished the first season. It started off real good and got boring fast.

I can agree with a lot of those, Babylon 5 was originally set for 5 seasons, but they thought it would be cut short at 4, so the main story arc got wrapped up in Season 4. Season 5 was just tacked on.

As for ST:TNG, I can't disagree more. That was one of the best final episodes a Sci-Fi show has had.

Musical genius came out of Season 4. Nothing else really mattered.

Also, I did not mind ending, nor care too much for. Because I've forgotten how it ended by now.

the music was awesome although dylan being the secret to the universe is a bit hokey.
