Amen. You are complaining because the panel doesn't perform to your expectation when it wasn't designed to optimize non-native resolution. If you want to run at 1024 X 768, get a 15" LCD panel or a standard CRT.
Also, don't bash it because it doesn't match the quality of a panel costing 25% to 50% more. That's the same as ripping an economy car because it doesn't handle like a luxury sports sedan. Have you ever heard of price points? If you want a panel with a true 20ns response, you can find it...but not at $300..
