if this is the TV i think it is, it puts grey (not black) borders on 4:3 stuff, which is extremely aggravating. it might as well only have stretch mode.

Nice deal! Heard lots of positive things about the 720p Panny Plasmas over Black Friday. If you're going to be gaming/watching TV and not a lot of Blu-Ray watching, 720p is more than fine. Personally I find a lot of 720p downloads are better than their 1080p cousins since the relative bitrate is better on 720p.

That said, I picked up a 42" 1080p Panasonic S1 Plasma - excellent TV for $600
