Just curious: Creative claim Audigy 2 support DVD-Audio. Does that mean I will be able to play DVD-Audio disc on computer?

Currently I own one (free) DVD-Audio disc, but cann't seems to find a way to play it on pc. (Though it does make nice sound, from the AC3 source, instead of the DVD-Audio tracks)

I searched on the web and it seems somebody claims that there are NO computer capable of playing DVD-Audio, because of the legal issues. And somebody claims that ALL DVD-Audio player MUST output the signal in ANALOG format.

Either "somebody" is wrong or Creative is playing tricks. Any idea?

It appears that the Audigy 2 CAN output DVD-Audio. The only catch: DVD-Audio will only output in analog. You have to use the 1/8 inch jacks, no optical or digital coax. The "front", and "surround" jacks output two channels per plug, but the "center/sub/surround back" jack outputs 3 channels on one plug, so you either need to use Sound Blaster surround speakers (which *surprise* also use this proprietary configuration) or go out and find a special plug to fit that jack. This could be a nightmare if you plan to run the signal to a 6.1 channel A/V receiver.

I was wondering if any old computer DVD player would work with this setup, and that also appears to be true. I haven't seen anything on SB's site, or in any review that specifies a list of compatible DVD players.
