I'm being sarcastic. Modern day sexism is all over the place in TOS
But it's in NextGen, too.
One example of many is the fact that there was only a female metamorph. The writers tried to paper over that by saying male metamorphs are much more common, but anyone with any sense is going to go "Yeah, right... that's why there are so many in the episode."
Pulaski was kicked off the show for a warm motherly non-crusty bland doctor. The audience couldn't handle a female Bones, apparently. Similarly, Tasha was kicked off the show for a much more stereotypical security officer (Worf). I will say, though, that Yar was miscast. She wasn't athletic enough to be a convincing security officer.
The boy genius had to be a boy not a girl.
The "rogue" automatically had a young woman to seduce. She, of course, automatically went to his quarters. How many roguish seductive women do we find in the series? Vash didn't seduce any attractive young men on the ship. She, instead, went after the patriarch just like the metamorph did. Seductive women tended to go after Data, which is rather humorous.
I can make a long list. But, worse than that is the way Berman refused to let Roddenberry have a gay character.
