I agree with most of what everyone said except squad leaders. While I agree it would be nice, most of the time I don't find it's necessary (unless you always play on full maps). Usually my friends and I will just jump in a new squad and then we don't have to worry about bad players in your squad.

Also, I really wish they would add the ability to press TAB while waiting for a respawn. I want to look at my score in the 10 seconds I've got to wait for a respawn and not stare at my screen clicking on the enter button.

For me where SLs would be good to have isn't in the squad-management role, it's in inter-squad communication. Someone needs to be able to let Bravo tell Echo that the way is clear, move up! Whether it's SLs on a channel that only they can hear, or a commander on a channel that only the SLs can hear, it would be awesomesauce for teamwork.

When you're waiting to respawn it's ESC. Stupid to have it different, I know. But it takes you to the same scoreboard, and back.

Seriously, Relic can't make a server browser for the life of them. They could not in BF2 and not in this game, its just bad, plain and simple.

Who the hell makes a game you can't show pings in a server browser? lol Nevermind the fact you try to run in admin mode the game won't even start. Funny no other game requires that..comic.

64 players on these maps would be like 32 players on MW2 maps, they're just not big enough. 32 is good for the map sizes but I prefer 24.

Obviously, for 64 players new maps would be required, and that's the point, there's no big maps, while the ones we have are fun, they often (for me, and others as seen here at least in this thread) feel too small, especially with vehicles. If there's one thing I would like to see is a 64 players map in the veins of Karkand, with the environment destruction it would be tremendous.

I've never had a problem seeing pings at all. I run the game as admin and it works fine for me.

Hahah thank you, agreed 100%. So funny people complaining about snipers but Ironically that takes enough skill in this game that it is balanced.

If I really want to rack up kills, I will just sprint around the map, first spamming nades, then get behind enemy lines, and start stabbing.

But seriously I just laugh when I get on a one on one situation, the guy is 10 yards from me and has to use his grenade launcher? Seriously? Yep...

That is a good point. It would certainly help on the communications side.

When you're waiting to respawn it's ESC. Stupid to have it different, I know. But it takes you to the same scoreboard, and back.

I'd change the spotting system. IMO it's stupid that if an enemy 'spots' you everyone basically gets a wallhack on you for a few seconds. It's also stupid that even if I know where you are, I can't let my teammates know it unless I can target you and push the spot key.

I'd use a system like some RTS games have where you basically open the minimap, click where you think the enemy is, and all your teammates will see a marker there on their minimaps (whether you are right or wrong).

I'd also change the unlock system so there isn't such a large gear disparity between veterans and new players.

No the spotting system is good and it works well. It forces you to help your teammates and take time to spot cus you get points for it as well.

I'd kind of do to the rocket launchers likewhat they did in Desert Combat to the Stingers to prevent people just sniping across the map with them (where they don't do any damage to players just planes, helos, etc.) and just make the roucket launchers do less damage to a player but keep the damage model the same for vehicles/buildings.

And for fucks sakes reduce the amount of damage a noob toob does. Holy christ I am so tired of just getting spammed by some asshole who only has enough skill to basically spam an AoE weapon with unlimited reloads.

I want prone so I don't have to hold crouch down for minutes at a time. Vehicles are nice but this game just doesn't have that epic battlefield feel that BF2 did. I think I'm going to go back to playing BF2.

the server browser. i swear EA are fucking morons when it comes to coding for simple things that were done years ago.

you can only chat when you're alive. can someone please tell me the point of this?

many other things but i'm too pissed from playing the game right now.

Funny thing is the text filter. It filtered "what took you so long?", for some reason, as well as swear words of course, even "Damn". But the in-game audio character voices are yelling "Fuck!" and "Shit!" all the time. *Insert upside down face here*


Anyway, lot of good ideas on here, but I was thinking about the layout of the game, and how ultimately it depends on how good the players are. Even an excellent team system will only be as good as the players using it. Public servers will still have issues with that.
Also, I think they purposely capped the game at 32/tight maps to give it that arcade feel, and so the whole game is constant tight firefights. Its funny, compared to BF2, I never get a chance to relax!
The air vehicles feel silly on such small maps, but I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.
BTW, I only played 64 player maps on BF2.

Right now it is a lot of fun, but I am curious to see if it stays fun, or gets boring after a couple of years of play and every firefight-rock-cover is known.

The point is i run win7 in admin mode, but still does not show pings at all. Relic even said that most cases it won't show pings because of server design, or if it does it will show higher than normal ping.

I would fix the weapon switching bug. If you use the mouse wheel to switch while holding shift to run it reverses the mouse wheel. Now obviously this is what should happen in normal programs but I have died so many times by switching to my C$ instead of my pistol because of this....

the weapon switching via the mouse wheel is horrible... i thought i'd like prone, but now that I really think about how others could use/abuse this, I'm OK without it.

The game was made by DICE, not Relic

The only thing that I'd really want is improved VOIP. Squad only is pretty useless.

IMHO the is the most re-re tardo bug of all. It doesn't matter what key sprint is bound to (mine is mouse 5), the wheel is still screwed when running. The other tidbit, is that it's not really reversed. Scrolling in any direction when sprinting advances you to the next weapon. It's completely moronic that there is no way to access my pistol through the mouse wheel b/c I'm fucking running.

The other thing I hate about switching weapons w/ the mouse wheel, is that only one click registers in the direction you scrolled. Get out your pistol and flick the mouse wheel up. You'll be holding your rifle, even if you scrolled 8 clicks. >.< Counterstrike has the most responsive mouse wheel switching evar. I wish all games were like that.

What .exe are you using for your N52 ? I am using nostromo_3.2.4_081607 and have a problem with my Win 7 64 bit install. Everything is fine until I take a game break for awhile..then the N52 software ceases to function..and a reboot is the only fix I have found. Any thoughts ?
