Yeah, playing in a conference game will screw you over, if Georgia had played in the SECCG and lost to LSU they would have been out of the BCS as well, it actually HELPS a team to not be in their championship game which is just pitiful.

Well actually, it was HILARIOUS imo. (although maybe not in the way Oklahoma fans were expecting )

EDIT: as for Hawaii's offense, you do have to factor in the fact that at least 8 of their games were verse total cupcakes, so their stats are a little skewed. Look at what the SEC teams did at the begging of the season verse the cupcake teams they played OOC.

hawaii may suprise us again and play well... too bad they're playing georgia... i think they'd have a better chance against KU.

considering most years they play in the Hawaii Bowl hosting a team in the same situation, I don't feel sorry for them.

That's a cop-out. If the spread offense lets a team with a weaker offense be more productive, it should also let a team with a potent offense be similarly more productive. It's within the rules of the game and it works for a lot of teams.

I'm no happier than you are to see OSU going up against LSU (I would have much rather seen OSU play in the Rose Bowl and have a shot at winning), but I'm not about to take anything away from LSU by claiming that the spread offense is covering up some sort of ineptitude. The simple fact is that the spread works and it's 100% within the rules of football.

You might as well claim that the forward pass is just a way to get away with a lot of things and cover up the fact that the offense can't get the job done by going at the game straight (that is, by running the ball).

Freaking OSU sits there and does nothing the past 3 weeks and somehow moves from 5th to 3rd to 1st.

Computers loved VT and had them first. Harris SOMEHOW moved us down after beating #11, and USA Today had us 5th. If the Harris poll wasn't such crap (For God sake, how do you still have Mizzou and WVU as 1 and 2!?!).

I have to say that this is all pretty much how we expected it to wind up.

KU's SOS is 109th
ALL the human polls have Mizzou > KU

So naturally KU skips ahead of Mizzou because they didn't have to play OU (AT ALL); whereas, Mizzou had to play them twice.

Bah, Rose Bowl should have taken Georgia but they had to be traditionalist and choose a big 10 team. It would have been the most enticing matchup period between two of the hottest teams.

AZ state got screwed. How did they get not get a bid while a 3 loss Illinois team did? Sheesh USC has been the only Pac 10 representatives for the past 5 years. Sympathies to Missouri as well, that was complete BS.

Oh well, GO RAINBOW WARRIORS! This would be a much huger upset than Boise over Oklahoma last year, but it should hopefully make for an entertaining game.

LSU is one of the most undisciplined teams in the the country...no way do they destroy someone for the crystal. The only team I think that would crush OSU straight up would be WVU because of the spread option.

As undisciplined as they are, they won the SEC championship (arguably the hardest conference) game with their starting quarterback and one of (if not THE) best defensive players in College Football on the sidelines.

Given a month to heal up, LSU will simply embarrass OSU. It won't even be a contest.

LSU should have beaten UT like a redheaded stepchild and yet managed to squeak out a 21-14 win. UT's secondary has more holes than a sieve...LSU should have been able to sling the ball all over the field, even with Perriloux under center.

And that is exactly what we are going to do against OSU in the BCS game with everyone healed up.

No way. Even healthy I can't say I was ever overly impressed with LSU. I do know CBS can go eat a dick over their repeated harping on the chop block of Dorsey.

And the countdown to OSU's utter embarrassment begins.
