Mizzou beats KU.
Mizzou's SOS is 26th

ALL the human polls have Mizzou > KU

So naturally KU skips ahead of Mizzou because they didn't have to play OU (AT ALL); whereas, Mizzou had to play them twice.

Way to go BCS, way to go.

That is probably the best thing to ever happen to the state of Kansas.

Kansas teams have made 16 appearances in bowl games since 1992

Missouri played 3 teams that made a BCS bowl 4 times and ended up beating 2 of those teams. Kansas played 3 teams that ended with a winning record.

Like I said before, their loss record hurt them more than they're win record helped.

KUs 1 loss to a number 3 didnt hurt them as bad as it would have if it would have been an unranked team.

It did hurt them, they were ranked 2 spots lower than Missouri in the standings.

Well maybe the people paying for the orange bowl said they didnt want 2 teams that lost 2 games each.

Its the same in the NCAA tourney, always something that doesnt make sense.

Yeah you're probably right. At least in the bball, there are 65 teams with a shot. Too bad my university didn't even receive a single point in any poll .

so you're saying we got a chance

OSU should be penalized because they played a weakass non-conference schedule as well as the big ten being the weakest conference on top of not playing a championship game.

should've been LSU and OU/USC.

I know! There's always the chance the OSU would have lost if they played in a championship game. Not to mention the Big 10 doesn't even know how to count!

LSU is one of the most undisciplined teams in the the country...no way do they destroy someone for the crystal. The only team I think that would crush OSU straight up would be WVU because of the spread option.

HAHAHAHA...oh wait...HAHAHAHHAHAHA

Ok, I'm done.

You'd have to be an idiot to think that WV could beat LSU or OSU. They lost to two unranked teams. They also almost lost to freaking CINCY!

The Big Ten heavyweights can't defend teams that run a spread option.

OSU vs FU last year
Michigan vs Oregon this year
OSU vs Illinois this year

Correct.

A spread offense often involves lots of QB running, in addition to 3-5 wides, right?

OSU suffers against running QB programs. Texas 2005 (Vince Young), FU (Tebow, Leak) Jan 2007, Illinois (Juice Williams, 774 yards season rushing) 2007.

Is Matt Flynn of LSU a rushing QB? Looks like Perrilloux may be a good choice for this bowl game to get a lot of snaps.

Many look to last years game as a demonstration of a very weak defensive demonstration of Big Ten football, and FU definitely gave OSU an embarrassing whipping they will never forget. However, it isn't like FU rolled up 600 yards on them. 370 actually. OSU offense was a total meltdown against FU defense, punting from your own endzone makes for disaster and easy 30 yard touchdown drives by the opponent. Turning the ball over near your own endzone is worse.

Funny how people think that the FU offense the total key to that game. But FU had 5 (of 7 total) scoring drives of 39 yards and less. 2 of which were 6 yards and less. OSU gave them the bullets, FU offense had to load, aim and fire.

Lots of people focus on the SEC offense, but it was that FU defense that most people seem to overlook in that last title game.

I always get poed because I think KU should have gotten a better seeding in the tourney.

I've always thought that OSU was over ranked and now this is just ridiculous!

I guess the only thing we can do is beat the !@#% out of Kansas (should have been Mizzou, IMO).

The computer polls look seriously messed up though.
Missouri ranked ahead of Oklahoma? Text

Its quite obvious that VT is the best team in the country according to the computers (getting 3/6 of the first place votes!). OSU gets way too much love from the human polls. I saw the Mark Richt voted OSU #1...WHY? just b/c they played a weak schedule they get to beat #1? We played the most ranked teams and IIRC the ACC has the most teams in the post season (EIGHT, 75% of the conference!) Yes, the SEC is the toughest conference in the nation, but the ACC doesn't get ANY love. VT still played the most ranked opponents this year (6).

FU vs OSU last year was a prime example of why you cannot have your offense revolve around a single individual (Ginn Jr). A couple more examples of this would be Oregon 2007 and WVU 2007.

Yes, because LSU played non-conference powerhouses such as Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee State, Tulane, and Louisiana Tech. I mean, all of those schools were legitimate contenders... Oh... Wait...

LSU's non-conference schedule was every bit as weak as OSU's. At least OSU scheduled a team that's occasionally good (UW). LSU didn't even try to schedule a non-conference team that could have been a threat.

Mississippi State is a conference game for LSU.

That would not have been possible, unless the Sugar Bowl agreed to let it happen (and there was absolutely no way they would agree to it).

That rule was put into place as a result of the Rose Bowl East (Orange Bowl 2003).

Mississippi State is a conference game, and Virginia Tech is not. Both are better teams then UW (this year).

Well, it's LSU and Ohio St. I guess. Who's ready to watch Ohio St. get run off the field again? Although.. the way LSU likes to keep us in suspense who knows.

Just got home and saw that my LSU will be in the NCG....Geux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!

A few things:

Florida = UF...NOT FU
Miss State = SEC foe, not non conference

LSU is not a spread offense team. Sure, the backup QB can run decent and Flynn can run if he has to but they are not spread offense or I-formation/option type team.

Now with over a month to heal, LSU will be back in its strong form. I truly hope this won't be a blow out NCG again like last year.

I think he's talking about the powerhouses known as Youngstown State, Akron, and Kent State! Look at those powerhouse teams!

OSU is totally surving on their legacy and reputation, not what happened this past season, which is what matters the most!
