USA Today is the only one out yet that matters. Harris Poll isn't out yet, and BCS doesn't come out until 7PM.

They have 1 out of the 3 so far.

-Kevin

They will have all three...

Harris is going to be quite similiar to the Coaches and AP. LSU will beat out GA and VT in the computers...

I hate how Ohio doesn't play yet moves from 5th to 3rd to 1st. I dislike how OU by beating Mizzou, even though they were expected to, jumps 6 ranks. Finally I dislike how Georgia doesn't play, they don't win their conference, they don't play in their championship yet they still are 4th.

-Kevin

Slaughtering a #1 is still slaughtering a #1. Thats why the moved up.

this is pretty messed up i have to say , lsu moves up so many spots for barely beating tenn, tenn was never that good, a 6-6 cal beat it by 2 scores,, not to mention they were the last to lose as well, even the game y'day but pretty much handed to them by tenn, i atually prefer putting in ou over lsu, atleast ou totally dominated a no #1 team

One of the writers on ESPN is predicting a Georgia vs Hawaii Sugarbowl.

That will be an amusing game to say the least.

Several others have this

LSU vs OSU Title Game
WVa vs VaTech Orange
Georgia vs Hawaii Sugar
OU vs Kansas Fiesta
USC vs Illinois Rose

There other likely scenario is Kansas and Hawaii switching places.

The Rose always sticks with a Pac 10 - Big 10 game if they have the option.

They have the option. Not to mention, the Sugar has first dibs on Georgia.

USC - Georgia would be a better game but its not going to happen.

That's why I hate the Rose Bowl. USC vs UGA would be a tremendous game, but they will pick Illinois instead because of the Big 10 ties.

The Rose won't have the option of picking UGA. The Sugar gets first dibs on UGA.

Rose gets first dibs on Big 10/Pac 10.

Fiesta gets first dibs on Big 12

Sugar gets first dibs on SEC

Orange gets first dibs on ACC/Big East

Id personally like to see

OU vs UGA in the Sugar

Kansas vs Hawaii in Fiesta

Those would be good matchups.

So you don't like it when teams that don't play move up and you don't like it when teams that don't play stay where they were. Should teams always move down in the polls if they don't play?

Both Boise St in 2006 and WVU in 2005 beat their easy schedules convincingly. Hawaii has not. Hawaii's schedule is also worse then either of those two teams, by far. By Sagarin's SOS stats, Hawaii's is 137th (worse then 17 1-AA teams), Boise St's was 90th and WVU's was 63rd.

Each team has their own circumstances. USC, VT are both better than Georgia (or at least on par) and they had to play extra games (Which they won) and yet they don't move at all.

USC and Georgia are both 10-2. There is no extra game there.
USC had an extra bye week. That means they had more time to rest during the season.

Ah I forgot their extra bye week. Well in that case, VT definitely had an extra game against the 11th ranked team in the nation.

That may or may not be true.

It is certainly better for OU to beat a one loss team then for USC to beat a 5 loss team, in the computers.

It makes more of a difference for a team to beat another team twice the less losses the other team has. Thus, Oklahoma's wins against Missouri are better then Auburn's wins over Tennessee in 2004. Also, both USC and Oklahoma in 2004 had much better schedules then Auburn in 2004, and so there was much less change in the rankings. This year, everyone is spaced much more closely, so Oklahoma's win will certainly help them. They already jumped to 3rd in Sagarin's BCS rating, which is the only one out right now.

Yes, the #1 SEC team annihilated the #1 ACC team. But, the #2 SEC team lost to the #7 Pac-10 team. It's not as simple as saying 1 conference ALWAYS annihilates everyone else.
