Be careful with MWave.com "hot combos"!!!!

I got to know this "hot" deal in one of the posts here. I brougth one of their KT7A-Raid 900TBird combos. I got screwed big time!!! They sent me a CPU cooler called KMI (does anybody know this thing?) and a bare-bone motherboard. They took out all the cables, the cd with drivers and even the manual!!!

I am calling them tomorrow morning to complain! What about you guys???? Have you had any bad experience with Multiwave Direct yet?

I am pretty frustated!

I've bought from MWave many times and had no problems. I actually have had great service with them. so if you got a wrong order, its probably your fault.

I've ordered from multiwave many times too. Overall great service. When I did have a problem, they replaced it no problems. Pretty good prices and inventory too.

I've dealt with Mwave a few times. They're a solid company, a huge operation in the SoCal area.

A Duron chip of mine died (old goldorb design, chipped the die) and they rma'd it no problem.

Just contact them, I'm sure they'll make good. BTW the used to pack coolermaster fans with their combo's, good fan, better then the goldorb.

The KWI cooler you guys are referring to...is it the Chrome Orb clone? If so that's what I used to get my dad's Duron 700 running at 1ghz. Seemed to work pretty dang well for me

The KWI I am talking about is the KP-02 (http://www.kingwin.com/fan-k7s.htm#Model: KP-02). I don't know about this one, but I am definitively calling them tomorrow. After all, if the give me a set of the boxed motherboard stuff, I think it will be a good deal. I am also gonna ask them about a better fan... If you guys are right about MWave, I should be all set...

only the cpu is oem, the mobo is always retail...
Great (good) service too. Had mobo & cpu rma'd even after
40 days Although they would not send replacement 2nd or 3rd day,
just standard ground.

I too have ordered about a dozen times from MWave, everything from RAM to monitors. Great place. I damaged a motherboard and they RMA'ed it no problem.

With buy.com prices likely to go up, I will likely be doing more business with MWave.com ...

I will say this in English because my Latin is not what is use to be and my Tibetan is even worse.

I have done business with Multiwave a few time (4 or 5) and have had no problem.

I hope they will take care of BrazilianBoy's problem with no further grief to him. It does sound strange that they would send a "stripped down" KT7A motherboard.

I am running on one of their combo's now. My fan is an AVC Mega-Cool, has a nice decent sized fan on a very nice heatsink that is made in Taiwan, who'd expect a Fop-32/38 or something any way's?. I received a fully boxed motherboard, cables and everthing. I order most of my components from them and they are top notch.
I would say someone screwed-up big time, probly some new guy/gal. Who knows, maybe you got someones "returned to test goods"?

I've ordered twice from them and had problems BOTH times - they suck in my honest opinion. One of these situations was critical when I needed the part overnighted to me and they refused to do so. Then they charged me for the better Pro2 (instead of the Pro which was cheaper and the only one available at the time) and STILL sent me the Pro. Besides that they had told me 2 days and it took more than a week to receive the WRONG replacement. I got so sick of their crap that I just made them refund me back the difference and kept the Pro board since this was going into a non-overclocked system.

Overall experience just plain sucked - will not do business with them again and I'd highly recommend staying away from them

AMD T-bird 1GHz + cooling fan
Asus A7V133 Motherboard

for like $370 shipped, seems like a good deal. Is the cooling fan a cheap-o that I should replace with something else? Anyone know a place to get this combo (or something similar with 1ghz) cheaper?

amitarora, I would highly recommend these guys. I got a combo deal from them and that was the best and cleanest setup I've ever bought. They have a great rating also and their Customer Service was terrific.
