This movie was terrible. Not very funny at all and the whole backstory to how jack blacks character gets magnetized is completely ridiculous and unnecessary. What a waste of time.

i saw trailer. i kept far away.

trailer alone made the movie look like typical February trash. Not once have I even thought "i want to see that movie". Not even a rental, and I hope no friend makes me watch it at their house. For I will stab whoever tries to force that trash upon me.

Well it wasn't THAT bad... as in I wouldn't have minded seeing it for free if somebody else had it. BUT since I paid $7.50 for it I was quite pissed. Their remakes of the movies were pretty funny but there wasn't a lot of that in the actual movie.

If you went to see a Jack Black movie, I'm not surprised you hated it. Anyone who went to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind because it was a Jim Carrey movie probably hated that movie, too.

Judging by the reviews, if you go to see a Michel Gondry movie, you'll probably love it. I'd venture that he's one of the top five directors currently making movies, but he isn't making them for morons, so YMMV.

Since you guys hate it so much it is probably not half bad. I actually like jack black(king kong, tenacious D, Orange County etc) though he has made a couple stinkers, and I like the director.

I like Jack Black, and I hated this movie

Its a lot like the movie "Accepted". Its hilarious for like the first 45 minutes, then it just takes a massive dump and turns into complete sh!t. I was laughing my ass off when they were remaking ghostbusters, then after that it wasnt that funny at all.

tenacious D was this rollercoaster of funny then unfunny. You laughed, but then you treated to what a WTF state. This goes on for the whole movie and by teh end, you are so exhausted that you have to laugh at the erection joke.

I think it looks pretty good and I'm not really a Jack Black fan. I don't really trust ATOT's taste in comedies, so I'll probably be seeing it soon.
