Sorry to bring up another thread about this wonderful combination, but I am anyway...........

First off, I have mine stable at 142fsb with the memory timings all on lowest they can go (best), except the I don't know if the idle timer should be moved from Infinite or not. I am running normal Optimization since it overclocks the AGP/PCI bus at this speed less than Turbo1.

I have several questions regarding the CPU settings though. I am watercooling and the highest temp I have seen was 37C and that was with CPUBurn 4 running. So I don't think temps are holding me back. (Rigging a holddown was interesting, but I got one that seems to work ok.) Anyway 142 is the highest I can hit with DDR voltage at 2.6 and vcore at 1.65 (reads 1.63 at idle).

One of my issues deals with the above voltage. During full load it drops to 1.53 (lowest) and that worries me a bit. My 12volt rail is also bottoming at 11.43 during that full load test. Is my powersupply an issue here? Also how safe would maxing my voltage to 1.75 be? I mean is this going to shorten the processor's life by a year or so, or by much more?

Anyway I would like to know the settings everyone who is hitting 2.4+ with the 1.6A is using.

Please....................

Actually I've heard that Turbo1 LOCKS the PCI/AGP buses around spec; approximately 35Mhz/70Mhz, so Turbo1 would actually be clocking your PCI/AGP buses lower than "normal" (FSB / 4).

Well at 142, I am running at 35.5 and 71 respectively, so its close. Any other info guys/gals that can be of help.

Just wanting to know someone's settings who has hit 2.4 and their voltages under load.

I can hit 2.4 (150) but it is with my vcore to 1.75 in the bios. But under load it drops to 1.65. I don't feel comfortable at that much vcore, so I am back to 2.27(142). Anyone know if and when the USB issue is going to be fixed. Am I going to need to buy a USB board?

Maybe someone with a good powersupply could check and see if they get a massive voltage drop under full load or if its just my powersupply not cutting it.

I've been working on my rig for the past 2 days getting it set up while overclocking..

I am currently running *stable* at 2.4GHz (Have been running Prime95 without a glitch for the last 10 hours).

Here are the specs:

Intel P4 1.6a, location: Costa Rica, batch: 3147-682
stock HSF
Asus p4B266-c
Enermax 365w PS (2 fans)
WD 60gig 7200rpm
Single (small) case fan (need improvement here)

Bios settings (these are the only changes I have made):
16x150
1.55v
Turbo 1

Temps, voltages (reported by mbm 5):
idle: ~34-36c
full load (Prime95): ~46-48c
loaded vcore: ~1.56

The only problem i have encountered is the system not posting when USB devices are plugged in, which is typical with the usb 1.1 I've read. Looking for a USB 2.0 card that will work with XP.

My overclocking procedure went something like this:
Installed mb & processor, Burn in at 1.6GHz for 24Hrs with Prime 95
Increased FSB to 110, tested boot, checked out fine
Increased FSB to 120, test for another 12 hours with Prime 95
Increased FSB to 130, tested boot, voltages getting low with 250W Sparkle ps, bought 365W Enermax & Installed
Increased FSB to 140, bumped vcore to 1.55, test for another 12 hours with Prime 95
Increased FSB to 150, tested for another 10hrs so far under Prime95 without a hiccup.

When I checked the system this morning before work, I noticed the case fans were blowing pretty warm air.. and the loaded temp read 49C. I yanked the case cover and immediately noticed the temp dropped to around 46c. Looks like I need some beefier case ventilation.

Looks like it might be my powersupply, if your set at 1.55v and run at full load at 1.56v. I may order on fairly soon.
