curious as to whether or not im the only one with "strange" bedroom sleeping habits. At night, in order for me to sleep, I need to have all of the doors in my room closed. This includes the closet, bathroom, and bedroom door... otherwise I am very uncomfortable and I cannot fall asleep. The actual bedroom door doesnt need to be closed ALL the way but the other doors have to be closed to a point where it is impossible to see into the rooms behind them.

Does anyone else have any strange things they do in order to go to sleep? or is this just really weird?

Naw, I don't mind if I closet door or whatever is open. Lately I've been closing it only because maybe it'll keep dust out of it more. But my bathroom door stays open unless I just punished in there, and my bedroom door itself stays open so I could maybe hear someone at the apartment door easier.

I used to be somewhat like that, where stuff needed to be closed. Somewhere after college was over, this stopped.

I think it had to do with having to feel at ease to mind with your surroundings.

Today the only thing that bugs me now is if I know I didn't do or finish something I wanted to do, then I can't sleep, then I end up getting out and finishing it. It can be as trivial as wiping or cleaning the bathroom sink..

The thermostat is right outside my bedroom door. If I shut the door, the heat / cold coming from the central air doesn't reach the the thermostat and I end up melting in the winter, freezing in the summer. So no, the door has to be open for logical reasons.

Not strange... but I can't sleep without a fan, and I can't sleep if it's above 70F.

i used to fart and pull the covers over my head to encapsulate the fart smell, when i was a kid. now, i sometimes do this to my wife unexpectedly. it's the fart game in bed.

My GF is the same way... all the doors have to be closed... and the light in the hallway (outside the door) has to be on.

when you fart and pull the covers over someone and trap them, that's called a dutch oven

my personal invention is an adaptation of the dutch oven: i trap my girlfriend under the covers, fart, then tickle her to force her to breath in as much as possible and to limit her resistance. i call it a clogger

Oh so that's who she learned that from.

Eh shut doors, and usually has to be perfectly quiet, to the point that most or all electronics also have to be off and unplugged. Or at least thats preferable anyways.

Kind of had to learn to sleep with everything making a ton of noise in a dorm room.

Also tend to need to have my arms around stuff.
Though thats partially because if I lay wrong I can cut off circulation to my arms... which is less then pleasant to say the least, and hurts so bad when feeling normal blood flow returns.

I try to limit the lights when I try to sleep. Sometimes I even cover up my clock and such. Don't want to go around blindly trying to play with my clock at night when it wakes me up.

I have a piece of electrical tape over the LED on our TV and I also use the remote to block my alarm clock light.

I don't have any weird sleeping habits, except maybe that I sleep during the day in a coffin, but that's not really weird.

I cannot sleep without "something" playing. I cannot sleep in silence. That being said - as long as the "something" is playing I can sleep anywhere at any time, just about on command. I do have a blanket and pillow ritual though, but I could sleep without, just makes me feel better when I do it.

I usually need some sort of white noise (fan is best), and I have trouble sleeping without my specific feather pillow. But lately none of that matters and I fall asleep within 5 minutes.

I set my PC (and usually PS3) to F@H, make sure everything is dark except my glowing blue PC which lights up the whole room, make sure my fan that sits right beside my head is on, then go to sleep.
