Odd one that. Superb minatures/modelling work (didn't the guy responsible get the Star Wars gig on the strength of it? And the Eagle still looks like a plausible spacecraft), good (for the time and budget) sfx, mostly decent costumes and sets (were the former down to Sylvia Anderson? Get the impression she could have worked in the fashion industry), proper actors (e.g. Martin Landau)...but kind of wasted on weak storylines and a fundamentally ridiculous premise.

that's because they allowed Fred Freiberger to produce the second season. each episode felt like a bad rehash of earlier Star Trek episodes.

Per my quick googling...the reboot failed.
