Every place I've worked would fire you for doing this.

Except maybe when I worked for a liquor distributor.

Our office frequently brings Bud Light to team meetings but when I suggested that should stop because of productivity concerns, I (and my chair) got thrown out a 3rd story window.

I have almost a 12-pack in my case fridge right now.

I've never, ever had more than 2 in a given workday, and even just having one's somewhat rare.

I have done it only very rarely. Our corporate policy was sorta vague on it - so in case we took a client out it would be kosher - something along the lines of 'visibly impaired' or something like that.
Anyhow, I really didn't care for doing it much because it seemed like I was sort of blue-balling myself. Have a short beer at lunch. . . then nothing for another five hours until happy hour. It usually just felt better to wait and have a good time after work.

They should make a commercial like that. It would bring the LULZ

When I worked in construction, it was every Friday at lunch (which was usually Hooter's), and it was a pitcher a person. Excellent. That was during college so I could hang with the big dogs. We always regretted it on Monday's though because we would get less than half a day's work done on the previous Friday, and the work that was complete was all screwed up.

I have done this before. A beer or two never hurt anyone!

I like the way you think.

ditto. one of my previous labs had beer every Friday near the end of the day. current lab, well, let's just say my boss has suggested diverting some of her funding towards running a distilling operation in the lab.

I use to work for a software company that was very liberal. It wasn't looked down upon if you decided to get a beer with your lunch. Heck, there was a guy there that had 6 packs in the crisper of the company fridge. I got to wear jeans and a t-shirt every day. The people there were also very liberal and I can't imagine some of them ever surviving in a conservative corperate culture. There were many freedoms. I miss that place.

Yea I guess I could say this company doesnt really care. The accountant has a fridge in her office that has beer in it, and there is a bottle of Skyy vodka in the freezer in the breakroom. It gets pretty loud in here on fridays.

we once had a stash of liquor in our 4C cold room....near to the radiation :Q

Wtf is a tall beer?

More than 12 oz?

I always thought tall = 22oz bottle (maybe even pint?) and 40oz = 40oz.

A tall glass/bottle is 22oz. A tall can is 24oz. Tall cans are considered ghetto, similar to 40's. so you'll usually only find tall glasses/bottles in a bar.
