I was never that bad, but when my mom took me to lunch this past summer, i had a little too much wine, but i was ok when i got back from my long lunch. (no, i was not driving either)

I would love to have a beer during lunch.. I don't know if it would go over well though.

Whenever someone leaves the company we have a big company lunch for them, a going a way lunch type thing. I never see ANYBODY drinking during these lunch get-togethers, but it's all that I can think about. I will constantly be looking around at people, thinking to myself, "shots? shots?"

We did a dinner after work if it was anybody cool, or we did a lunch on friday and everyone worked 8.5 monday - thurs so we could have a half day on friday with a drinking lunch.

The trick to drinking at luncheons is talk to the server away from the table. Let him know what drink you want and tell him to put it in a glass used for softdrinks. Most servers are pretty hip to this and generally keep it on the down-low.

Damn I remember one time I worked at the DOC, we used to go to Round Table and get pitchers and pizza. One time a new buddy of ours that wasn't much of a drinker came along and took a pitcher of Sam Adams to the face in about 15 minutes and came back TRASHED. He was hootin and hollering, all sweaty and red. He almost got us busted, but DAMN it was hilarious.
