i would guess beer is the worst depending on what you mix your vodka with. i read an article in Golf Digest that asked: what is the healthiest drink to have at the turn or after the round? the answer was wine, but who in the heck is gonna drink wine on a golf course. geesh. i think beer came in last place though. not 100% sure.
btw welcome to the forums :gift:

Vodka will get you trashed a lot faster than beer.
The enzyme is located in the endoplasmic reticulum of the cell and its activity is regulated by tissue specific promotors that are in turn controlled by hormones, cytokines, and other factors. The principal action of the enzyme transforms androstenedione to estrone and testosterone to estradiol. The aromatase enzyme can be found in many tissues including gonads, brain, adipose tissue, placenta, blood vessels, skin, bone, endometrium as well as in tissue of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, breast cancer, and endometrial cancer.
Factors known to increase aromatase activity include age, obesity, insulin, gonadotropins, and ALCOHOL. Aromatase activity is decreased by prolactin, AMH, and smoking. Aromatase activity appears to be enhanced in certain estrogen-dependent local tissue next to breast cancer, endometrial cancer, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids.
Thanks Dad, we'll remember not to binge drink. If we do, will you ground us?Originally posted by: HumblePie

OMG people still think this CRAP?!?!? a SHOT of vodka and a full 12 ounce beer have the SAME amount of alcohol in them. That's why vodka is given in SHOTS as a measurement and not 12 ounce bottles. Now 12 ounces of vodka all at once will seriously fvck you up compared to 12 ounces of beer. But for standardized measurements, they are the same.
If you are looking to LOSE or MAINTAIN weight, then don't drink at all.
Why? well alcohol causes spikes in testostorone in both males and females. The problem is, males turn excess testostorone to estrogen by a process call aromatase (pronouced aroma-tise). When a male gets drunk, their hormone receptors start getting more estrogen instead of testostorone because of the newly created estrogen. Estrogen in males does the same thing as in females. It causes the body to store fat and expand the mammary glands. Hence the terms beer belly and man titties. The added calories from drinking and carbs don't help either althought much less of those is absorbed then people and advertising puts on. Drinking 5 drinks with 100 calories total each, and your body might absorb half of that. Just depends on your genetic make up and your bodies predesposition.
If you really insist on drinking, learn to get to a "buzzed" state and stay THERE. Don't go into excess. The more you drink, the more free floating estrogen that will be formed in your body and the more fat you will put on that night and the subsequent day.
Also, be aware that man titties are a cumulative effect. Once the mammaries start to expand they don't go back to their original size EVER.

Jack and water, zero carbs. Or just jack on the rocks, if you prefer.

Yuck.. hate jack
Vodka is around 80 cal's, Light beer is around 90-100. Vodka has less, and they're coming out with low carb vodka too (God knows why).Originally posted by: Adigo
I'm just looking for information on which has less calories/carbs. I thought beer has more.
