I found this at a Polish supermarket: Hemp Valley Beer

It claimed that it had some herbs in it. The label looked intriguing, but the taste was just horrible. I would not recommend it for a party. It would be good in a display case.

What unique beer have you had?

Scottish Gruit: a beer made with wild herbs & spices, like rosemary & pine needles. It comes out something like a strong tea. Old world stuff.

I had some African beer made with roots & bushes. What implored me to buy & consequently try it, I wouldn't know. I don't even think it's technically a beer.

Wiltz Pilsner from Wiltz, Luxembourg ... the hostel I worked at was the old brewery, and so we got cheap beer while I was there. I've tried since 1995 to have them sent me some across the pond, but they have yet to do so.

The strangest beer i had was Xaighu (sp?). Its a Brazilian beer made from cocoa beans. Had a very dark chocolaty taste to it.

I also had hot Polish beer with some herbs and spices in it. It went very well with their all-fat bread spread; I forgot the name of this spread. The beer tasted very nice. It's actually a favorite among skiers during winter.

Two things... beer with a straw and fruit syrup with a beer?? Both incredibly strange concepts.

I've had Harnas, but that is certainly something I've never seen done to my beer. Where did they serve it like that?

One of the stangest beers I have had was on Gotland in Sweden. Lots of fruit pulp in it.
It tasted good and had a nice kick (~8%), but was not a beer you would want to drink all night long.

I had a very odd stout a year ago. It rolled around the glass very oddly, like motor oil, leaving somewhat more than a thin film of dark beer on the glass and was very slow (viscous). Its taste was much more "easy" than it looked. Went down very smoothly, no bite, no off tastes. Much better than guiness and the like in my recollection. I forget the name though. It was "the last can of its make" that sunset grille stocked.

Mongozo Coconut beer, I believe they said it was from China?? Don't recall. It comes in a bottle, which is poured into a broken coconut shell, and is served with real coconut milk. It's pretty delicious.
