I've never built my own computer, but I can afford it now and I need to ask some advice. This answers the basics
1.I am going to be using this new computer for high end gaming as well as music/homework, I would like to be able to hook up my SD TV to my computer as well so I can stream tv shows.
2.My budget is up to $1500 canadian
3. I'm obviously buying from Canadian places unless there is a cheaper/better solution
4.I would like a Intel/Nvidia setup
5.So far all I consider using is my old disc drive
6.Not for exactly what I need to know
7.Overclocking after a while, not off the bat
So basically I want to build a new system when the X38 motherboards come out(using one of them). I need to know if:
a)the people here are capable of telling me what steps I need to do to build/install software for a new computer. I have never done this and I don't know anyone who has
b)the X38 boards will be able to handle the 9000series of geforce cards when they come out.
c)if it can handle the 9000series will I be able to just plug a single new card in running 2 different video cards at the same time?
d)approximately how long a 1500 dollar computer will max out games if I overclock it a little.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I have no idea where else to start. THanks.
edit: I will post back here with exactly what parts I want to use when the x38 boards come out.
