Why spend $130 for OS X to run it in am emulator?

Are there any cracked versions of OSx that would work on a pc?

I'd do it to try the os out before investing in mac hardware. Granted, I wouldn't go out and pay $130 just to try this, it'd have to be more readily available.Originally posted by: n0cmonkey

Why the heck would anyone spend $130 for Virtual PC, or $200 for VMware and buy another copy of an OS to run another copy of an OS/S in an emulator Oh wait, its a multimillion dollar industry.. weird!!
I'd love to run OS/X and see what its really like in everyday use, but I'm not going to go spend $1,000+ just to try it out. I have a PC that runs great, why can't I use it..
Its the same thing with Linux. I'd like to use linux, but my PC with XP is rock solid, and I have it setup precisely the way I want it. Its great to have everything I need, and just by starting another program, I have a new OS to mess with.. no rebooting, no partitioning.. I can be in linux, and still have all my windows stuff running (wmp, photoshop, dreamweaver, msn, itunes).
Granted PearPC is still ass right now, difficult to get working.. not very stable, pretty slow, incompatibility issues.. but its still a cool thought..
OS/X is the power of unix with an nice GUI (rare), lots of software support, and much easier to use (for most). Why not run it on a PC (cheap hardware).
And obviously I would give os x the benefit of the doubt on all such issues. What I would be looking for is how the apps work and if I feel comfortable with the functionality. I suppose stuff like exposé might be too hard to experience properly though.Originally posted by: sparkyclarky

The problem with that mindset is it doesn't provide a fair representation of the OS or the hardware, as it is emulated. Meaning it will be slower, and more buggy than if it was natively run. You'd be much better off going to a compUSA or an apple store to check out the mac side of things. I don't mind my Windows box, but I'm sure my judgement of Windows would be soured a bit if I based it upon running Virtual PC in OSX.

So it only runs in an emulator, not actually on the hardware itself?
In that case, I can get my amiga operating system to run on my pc

You can do this with the Amiga already, and have been able to for years. Google WinUAE, works fantastically with games and Workbench etc.
