who cares, first world country or not. not like america is perfect. look at the cops in inner cities in the 80's and 90's, it got so bad, some of the statistics don't justify.

anyway, answer the damn question.

5 inmates annually: $100,000

shit, a family of 5, ... they can live good on $50K. But 5 grown men, taking up a good $100,000...

That's like a good 100 gaming PC's in total cost.

Why the fvck we paying for people that don't get the death penalty.

If anyone exceeds a year in prison, they should get the fvcken death sentence, it's a fvcken waste of money to house them in prison cells.

At least make labor camps or something like how the Nazi's did, so they're at least productive of something. They can make stuff for 3rd world countries. Or they can be human experiments for colleges.

that's why whenever i fvcken look at money, i just look at it like a trade system; deal in and deal out. I try not to let my feelings revolve around the dollar because of how slippery it is and how much of it gets thrown into idiotic relevance to government abuse and neglectful societies.

Okay it's said that enough men are raped in U.S. prisons EVERY YEAR to fill-up 3 baseball stadiums to the rim, where the hell are the guards during this time? Why aren't the rapists isolated, punished or sent to the electric chair? Imagine a middle aged, nice white guy who has to serve 2 month in prison because he tried to manipulate the stocks of his company and gets placed in a cell where they proceed to rape him, is this justice?

Ya see, people are retarded. I once explained an idea I had where prisoners would be completely isolated from each other and get absolutely no human contact (which would make prisoner on prisoner violence impossible) and my whacked out liberal friend said that was cruel because humans need human contact. Fuck human contact. The prisoners should be tethered to a 300V multiphase ungrounded electrical system, each prisoner would be tied to a different phase. 2 prisoners touching would cause both prisoners to die from electrocution. Two prisoners touching the same piece of metal at the same time would kill both. The tether would be connected to their neck to ensure that any current passing through their hands or feet would cross over the heart and lungs.

I'm just too liberal for my own good. All I want is for prisoners to not be violent to each other, and everyone says I'm nuts. I'm the only guy who's anti-rape.

overcrowding in californian prisons is considered to be agaisnst the 8th amendment... :-o I
think they should all be forced to ride bikes connected to a generator, and they have to pedal to generate enough electricity to pay for their own food, clothing, etc yes.

Wow you guys have a bargain, how do you do it to keep it so cheap? Here in Ontario,Canada it costs an average of $112,000 to keep EACH inmate in our prisons, and there's no such thing as making them clean up highways either, they get university and pension money while in jail. A serial killer, Cliff Olsen was able to sell the story of his killing spree to various news outlets and the money went to his wife and kid.
