He's an idiot why, just because you disagree with him? Does anyone listen to your music?

Calling Bush a terrorist is a bit extreme, although some of you don't approve of the job he's done. That I can understand, but a terrorist? :disgust:
After a fashion. His orders have killed tens of thousands more innocent people than Osama bin Laden, for example. Much of the world therefore sees Bush as a terrorist just as much as we see OBL as one. Most of the Western world is unlikely to consider Bush a "terrorist", of course, but "war criminal" ... that's a different story.
Bush didn't order the deaths of Iraqi civillians... you're confusing him with Saddam Hussein.

Oh, that's right. You can't ask them. They're dead.

Terrorists kill innocent people, right? What did all those Iraqi civilians do to deserve this. If your answer is nothing then to them Bush is a terrorist just the same as bin Laden is for killing all of those innocent Americans who did nothing to him.

no.

Accurate.

*Psst* You forgot to call him a Nazi too.

Psst, you just did.

Just trying to be helpful. I wouldn't want you guys to miss out on hurling your standard array of insults. Don't you have to pay a fine in your little bush-hater club if you forget to call him a brown-shirt or something?

Good, this means the Republicans will again beat the Hollyweed elites and the Democrat party in 06. I wish well for the Democrats but these radicals will increase the Republican chances of winning.

Belafonte? I've never heard of him.

I seriously doubt millions of Americans support Chavez. Whoever he is, he's crazy.

Bush fits right into that description to a T. I think he was right to say that. Chavez was elected by popular vote. We may not agree with him but the majority of people in his country do, which is all that really matters. Same situation here. A lot of us dont like Bush but we really cant do anything about it since the majority voted him in, but the people that did vote for him would be absolutely irrate if another country stepped in and did something for those of us who dont agree with him or his administration. Cant have it both ways.

Oh, and as for Belafonte's comment, here is the definition of terrorism. Looks like the arugment hinges on if you belive it is legal to invade another country on false pretences, and if not then our attack on Iraq was clearly an act of terroism.

He's a dictator because he was able to thwart the coup attempt, and continues to win elections despite the U.S wanting him out. This is the new definition of Dictator. An example of someone who is not a dictator is Musharraf of Pakistan, who led a coup to take power there some years back, he's not a dictator because he's with us, not against us.

Didn't Pat Robertson call out for Chavez's assasination some months back? I guess they missed. Poor Pat.

What Belafonte said is the belief, imo, of a majority of the people on this planet.
And THATS a problem.

Have you stood under his waves of bombs, been torched alive by White Phosphorus in Falluhja, had you door kicked in by screaming Marines and your 3 year old daughter thrown on the ground like a rag doll? Of course you don't understand, since you can only speak from your experience in the bubble that is the U.S. I can certainly see why some people consider the U.S. to be the worst terrorist nation on Earth.

Your ignorance is charming. Hs orginal backup band included Miles Davis and Charlie Parker. Probably never heard of them either. Not that I like the guy, I just like to be informed instead of just grunting: "never hurd uh 'im".

Crazier than Bush? That's debatable. At least he's giving fuel oil to people in the N.E. U.S., unlike the SOB Bush, who just pockets the profits as they roll in.

Sad how the Bush apologists will spin anything and everything to avoid holding Bush accountable for things that happen under his command. He is never responsible for the consequences of his decisons; he is never responsible for the actions of his administration. Never mind that extensive civilian deaths are a direct and inevitable result of his order to invade Iraq (for false reasons). Never mind that people under his command are killing those innocent civilians. It's not his responsibility, the buck stops anywhere but at Bush's desk. Nobody is accountable, we'll just blame it on the War Fairy; "No big deal, people die in war, tra la la."

I assume you also don't hold Hitler responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews since he didn't personally order those deaths?

(PS. And for the record, I didn't say Bush ordered their deaths. I said his "orders have killed". You might try reading more carefully.)

Terrorism is essentially coercion through extreme violence. We coerced countries all the time with money or other favors if they are somewhat "friendly." If not, aggressors (US) quickly resort to other means.

IMHO, calling Bush a terrorist is hyperbole, but his motivations AND methods are indeed morally questionable.

Really? I could have sworn it was George W. Bush that ordered the invasion of Iraq.

I guess that order didn't result in any civilian deaths in Iraq.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Say what you will about Bush, but celebrities like Belafonte, with their flare for the dramatic and media whoring, have done little to help the cause for a political shift in America...knuckleheads like Belafonte only continue to motivate the Republican base, and isolate swing voters who do not have the time or patience for such partisan rhetorical nonsense.

The people killing innocent civillians in Iraq are the criminals that are targeting them with their roadside bombs and car bombs.

QFT everybody has a damn opinion and I wish hollywood would do a better job of keeping its opinion to itself.

I don't know if they motivate the Republican base. Not much motivates the base besides money or God.

But, he did a good job of embarrassing himself, imo.

There's nothing wrong with Hollywood voicing its opinion via films or even actors taking up causes. It's when they cross the line into the absurd, as Belafonte did, that it's time to reel it in.

Yeah Belafonte should have kept his mouth shut and stayed home instead of making an ass of himself marching along side King during the Civil Rights movement. All the work he's done with aid organizations and UNICEF is just embarrassing.

You pretty much invalidated your own argument here by presenting it. That is unless you have some rational as to why those in Hollywood should keep their opinions to themselves while you freely express your own.

I don't know...of the few uber-Republicans that I know, liberal Hollywood gets them more riled up then any concerns of the spiritual or the financial.
