Say what you will about Bush, but celebrities like Belafonte, with their flare for the dramatic and media whoring, have done little to help the cause for a political shift in America...knuckleheads like Belafonte only continue to motivate the Republican base, and isolate swing voters who do not have the time or patience for such partisan rhetorical nonsense.
QFT everybody has a damn opinion and I wish hollywood would do a better job of keeping its opinion to itself.

the Tookie Williams debacle being the latest embarassment from Hollywood.

You pretty much invalidated your own argument here by presenting it. That is unless you have some rational as to why those in Hollywood should keep their opinions to themselves while you freely express your own.
Thanks smart guy! I am free to express my feelings just like hollywood just like you are.

I wish you would keep your mouth shut instead of trying to invalidate my argument.

hey looky here it works! I am free to say what I want!

I keep forgetting how 'in touch' dubya is.

As you can probably see I was injured myself, not here at the hospital but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won.
-- Statement offered in the presence of servicemen and women wounded in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan (rather than by brush on Dubya's ranch), Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006

REPORTER 1: Since the inception of the Iraqi war, I'd like to know the approximate total of Iraqis who have been killed. And by Iraqis I include civilians, military, police, insurgents, translators.
DUBYA: How many Iraqi citizens have died in this war? I would say 30,000, more or less, have died as a result of the initial incursion and the ongoing violence against Iraqis. We've lost about 2,140 of our own troops in Iraq. Yes.
REPORTER 2: Mr. President, thank you --
DUBYA: I'll repeat the question. If I don't like it, I'll make it up.
-- Dubya offers up equal parts high war fatalities and smarmy repartee, without an inkling of remorse, more or less... Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dec. 12, 2005

I think that steroids ought to be banned from baseball.
-- Someone should let Dubya know they've been banned since 2002... White House, Oct. 4, 2005

Last but not least
Brownie, you're doin' a heck of a job.
-- Dubya's comment to FEMA Director Michael Brown, who presided over what was arguably the worst ever performance by FEMA in an emergency situation, Mobile, Alabama, Sep. 2, 2005

I never suggested you were anything but free to say what you want, I was merely pointing out irony of your opinion.

Harry Belafonte has been speaking out on international politics for decades. He even had a UN spokesperson job for awhile. Hollywood isn't his life, just a job.

Some of the previous embarassments from Hollywood: Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While there is truth, probably more then I would like to admit to myself, in his comments about Bush, I just don't see them as constructive. Calling the POTUS a terrorist is to me, somewhat like saying Osama is right and we deserved to be attacked.

He crossed the line IMO.

Bin Laden is a murderer who needs to brought to justice and Bush is war criminal who needs to be held accountable for his crimes. It isn't and either/or situation. Both are evil men with the blood of many innocent people on their hands. Both need to answer.

He is still POTUS and I guess that however I feel about Bush personally, I have a hard time with someone talking about the highest office of our country that way.

Hey, I was raised by a WWII Marine master sergeant and I guess it shows sometimes, but that's the way I feel about it.

Me too, which is why we should be impeaching the man.

Leave it to the hollywooders to hug and kiss potential enemies of America. These are the same people defending the muslim extremists and other enemies of America. Loose lips sink ships. This guy has some nerve calling our president a terrorist in a hostile country to America. What a world we live in.

But these are the typical hollywooders we have. They party and engage in their usual perverse behavior when the Demoncats are in office but once a Republican is there, they go crazy. Remember the Dixie Chicks? Well thats a whole another story, but still.

I don't care if you say bad things about Bush, but don't do it in a country which is hostile to America and especially not when you're kissing and hugging a hostile military strongman.

But yeah, these hollywooders and enemies of America are a match. They both deserve each other.
