Atheists do not believe in a god or deity. Atheists' beliefs are similar to those of the Secular Humanists but do not necessarily include the emphasis on humanity's ability to improve the human condition.

I'm surprised there aren't more Quakers. Well, that's not true. I don't even really know what a Quaker is, exactly. I suppose if you read a lot of the classics like Jonathon Edwards, Calvin, Witfield, and Martin Luther (who's profound biblical teaching differs much from the current Lutheran Church, I guess that makes you a Quaker! WOO HOO! GO QUAKERS!!!! Wow, that makes me seem really "religious". Gross. When I think of Quakers, I think black and white clothes, and horses.... and barnes. Oh well.

edit: I wonder if what seperates the "conservative protestants" from the "quakers" is your view on the role God plays in History, namely his sovereignty. I'm a Calvanist.

Hmm... I consider myself to be an agnostic, but this site really seems to think that I'm a Unitarian Universalist. Oh well, I guess that where they get their funding from

Anyway. at least I still know that I'm NOT an atheist. I believe that there is SOME kind of guiding force out there, but I have no way of proving WHAT it really is. There are too many conficting opinions out there, and too much scientific evidence proving faults with traditional definition of "God".
