<< Besides, all of you that have a morality that doesn't flex that far, think about the other *grey* things you do. Buy something, wait a week just to AMEX Blue it or to return it and buy it again at a cheaper price. Thats *infinately* worse, in my opinion.
Well alright, ill comment on this instead. First of all it is illogical to justify one immoral action in context of another asi said before e.g. 'well, its not so bad that I killed that child, because YOU raped him and then killed him, so there"
Second, Why would you assume everyone here participates in these shady *grey* area deals?
Thirdly,
Is price protection a feature of AMEX? It's an incentive offered by the company to get yuo to use their credit, so they can charge you interest... No one is taking an advantage of an AMEX loop hole.... thats justh ow the card is supposed to work... I personally dont use an amex.. but I just dont see how using this feature is shady or grey. >>
So you don't use it. Good for you. Entire threads have been dedicated to using PM or AMEX Blue to get prices down. I may have only a few posts, but I've lurked for a *very* long time. Some of the things people will do scalp an extra buck off. I think of it this way:
1. Store offers low price so you will buy from them.
2. You:
a) Buy from Best Buy or CC instead and make them price match.
b) Buy from Best Buy or CC and make AMEX pricematch.
In Situation "a", which is the worst thievery, the company that offers the deal gets no money from it. BB or CC or whoever LOSES money from it. You have now screwed over two different companies.
I honestly don't have a problem with the second issue, except for the additional thing of buying a product *just to hold it for a sale* that goes on with the pricematching, whether it be AMEX or BB or CC or whoever.
I feel that people that took advantage of the Dell deal did nothing wrong. Unless they bought 50 or more. I paid Dell the price they asked for their listed product. No pricematch. No grey area. I will sell three of the cards to make up the loss. My right, and completely above the table. Unlike you guys I even have to charge sales tax if I sell in VA. Hot Deals are just that, Hot Deals. Why should I not take advantage of them? Because someone will create a 1500+ post thread bitching about it (like the BB GF3Ti200)?
Boohoo. I've missed out on plenty of these deals before. I shrug it off and go on with life. Geez.
