Jeez, at least the guys getting their refurb Altec-Lansing speaker orders cancelled are getting a 10% off software/peripherals coupon. I guess we get NADA for cancelled NICs. :frown:

I ordered 5 NICs, one Ethernet Hub, and a PCMCIA Ethernet card. Last I checked, order was in production. No e-mails yet today, so I'll check the status when I get home today.

Inexplicably, my e-mail contains customer number and order number. But when I enter the customer number, it shows no orders. When I enter the order number, it showed in production.

If Dell's order/inventory system is the best in the business, the rest of the business must be using pencil and paper. Scratch that, pencil and paper would probably work better...

I got the email with the February delivery date, too. Why some cancelled and others the big time delivery slip--like they'll ever come.

My order now shows as shipped, after I got the cancellation notice.

Has anyone else with a cancelled order had it change to shipped, and received their Nics?

(Or is this just another case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing?)

Its one thing to get 10 and another to get 300. 300 is EXPLOITATION. The reason these deals get killed so
quickly is that people really abuse them. What the hell is someone going to do with 300 NICs. It is also not ones right to exploit the deal. Leave some for the rest !

I will resell them very easily to my customers for at least $15....nice easy $851.40 profit. But again this should go in Brag & Moan along with your whining.

You should change your nick to swindle. Doing this for pure profit is just that.
As I said before, it one thing to get a few for oneself and friend but another
to make profit of such a mistake. At least you didnt order 300.

i randomly checked mine today and it said it shipped today (12/19)
there was two tracking #s, i dont know why though, i only got 10, cant be that big

Hello all,

Yes, I got the "reacknowledgement" for the 2/28/02 date today, also. I had to send a reply about it being "inconvenient". After all, it said "in stock" when I ordered. Delaying a few days would have been inconvenient. Waiting two weeks to tell me that the "in stock" item would be another TWO MONTHS is a bit beyond inconvenient.

But I'll bide my time. I can wait. Gonna get those NICs. Good luck to everyone else. Keep posting and share your mileage!

They come boxed stright from Belkin, 6 per box. So you have 6 in one box, 4 in the other, just how my order came.

12/11/01 2:24 PM Placed order for 4 NICS @ $0.81 each, and a 5-port switch @ $19.51. Got free shipping this time through Dell Small Biz.

(Anyone have a guess as to why it shows as coming from Addison, IL?)

So, looks like I'll be getting everything I ordered on this deal. As you can see, I got both ACK and CONF from Dell on both these orders. If you didn't, here's hoping that you get your order but you may be SOL. I never received any other e-mail from Dell on either of these orders. The order status page showed the NIC/switch order to be delayed, but it was never split. CC was charged for the correct amounts. Hope this helps and a big thanks to the original poster of this deal!

I ordered about 9:00 AM on the 12th. Received the order acknowledgement by 9:30 AM. Confirmation by 10:20 AM. Dell's website showed initially a ship date of the 17th. Then it slipped to the 27th. Received the 2/28/02 email yesterday and the web tracking indicated this also. Today it is back to shipping on the 27th. If it really happens it will be sweet but I will wait until February if need be. Just for comparison order #7180xxxxx. Let's not give up yet......

Sigh. Add me to the delayed list. Of course given the way Dell's systems seem to be working, I may go home and find a box on my porch. The on-line order status still shows ship date of 12/24/01.

BTW I ordered 3 PCI NIC cards, 1 PCMCIA NIC card, and a 5 port hub. It will be fun when they finally show up (I hope!)

I ordered 30 of them along with a $2k poweredge server. Funny, they said their was a 20 day back order on the server, but nothing about the NICs. Then about a week or so later (this past Friday), the server shows up but no NICs' site says they are trying to get some inventory to ship and should be shipped by 1/17. A side note, I had to order a refurbed CD drive for an odler Dell laptop someone has here. Ordered 11/30, kept delaying the ship date, got an email it would be shipped 1.3 and all of the sudden it sows up today. Their confirmation system is WHACKED!

A couple of weeks ago I got an e-mail saying shipment was delayed on the 10 Belkin NICs I ordered for 95 cents a piece. Just now I went to Dell and stuck something in my cart. Now there is an order in "items to buy later" for:

Item Price Changed
Desktop 10/100 PCI Network Card -- 10 $99.50 -- Was: $0.95

So Dell in their infinite kindness put something in my cart so I can buy it later at ten times the price I originally ordered it at. Isn't that sweet. I always consider it a real hotdeal to buy something at ten times the original cost.
