They supposedly left Dell at 5:33 pm, and UPS scnned them as arriving at my local UPS center at 5:12pm.

I'm just psyched to get these finally.

Finally got tracking # for my order. I was one of the 1st to order (order # 7171###..) and probably will be one of the last to get them. Lousy Dell, remind me to sell all my Dell stock come Monday.

My delivery date was pushed back to 3/22/02 but just received them today.
Got a total of 10 and don't really know what I will do with them. My five machines all have 3Com 3c905 cards. Some of them will end up going overseas with me in a few months time. Will try to sell one or two and will keep the rest for "barter" in the future.

They even paid to ship two boxes when then all could have fit in one larger box. Doesn't make sense to me.

I have been thinking about the email that most of us received a few weeks ago regarding this. Remember the infamous 24 hour notice. I think that they tried to eliminate some of the orders this way and also tried to scare more of us away by stating that the ship date was 3/22/02.

It was worth it to stick it out. Thanks to the original poster!!!!

My 50 shipped out and should have arrived today at home. I actually have a use for 50 and if some of you guys are on college campuses with ethernet in the dorms, you do to. At the beginning of the term next year, walk through the dorms and sell your cards to the new students. Many of them do not come to school with ethernet cards. If you are feeling adventurous, buy a 1000' of Cat5e at home depot, get some RJ-45 jacks off eBay along with a network tool, and make a bunch of 15' cables to sell with them as a combo. Up front cost is maybe $1.25 cable(plus your time if it's valuable) plus a $.95 network card. Sell them combo for $20 or $25 and walk away with a tidy little profit.

Finally got my 10 just the other day also, bout damn time. Few calls and emails with no reply, and then that shady email saying they were going to cancel my order.....oh well...I have them now, their loss.

I got my dozen today. It came in two boxes, each containing one carton of six retail boxed packages of one NIC each. The cartons show manufacturing inspection dates of "December, 2001".

What this means is that, after making the pricing error and accepting all of our orders at 81 cents each, they went out and bought brand new stock, at whatever price they usually pay, to fulfill our orders.

We love to bash Dell, mainly because of their poorly-working website and what seems to us to be their incredibly stupid business practices, but you have to admit that they stepped up to the plate on this one. *I* would not have done what they did... I would just have cancelled the orders.

Yep, got my ten the other day as well, I guess it pays to stick it out, and kudos to Dell for coming through for us!

I've already sold two to guys at work, covered all my costs!
