GetReal- I did check....it shows 10 Belkin NICS. If it were a price mistake they would have removed the item from the website or at least changed the price to the correct price......

If this is a misprint, there's a big flashin light at Dell HQ now..
I placed mine 9AM this morning, good luck for all who still have a hand in this game. BTW, since I'm relativly new.. would it be unethical to call to check order status? seems like everyone else is.

Couple comments

1) This is one of those deals... if we get it great if not .. who cares.

2) Plenty of companies sell things at a loss... especially this time of year. (There is a little known tax called inventory tax.. ) Unless your an accountant.. it's hard to understand all the profit and loss issues with a company such as DELL. I am sure if they are selling them at .90 each... they are going to benefit in the long run.

3) As for people buying 100s of these... Why should I care if some people are buying quantity and selling on E-ay!? Who cares.... this is a hotdeal and there will be others.

---

Have a nice day

<< This is not a price error. These cards are junk and only retail for $14 anyway. Dell apparently got stuck with a bazillion of them and needs to get them out of the way. They are likely unhappy about the price drop timing coinciding with the free shipping promo but I'm sure that they just really want to get these damn things out of their warehouse. >>

My computer has this card in it, it works very well. why do you call it a piece of junk? any evidence?

I bought like 10 of these. TRUST ME. When the Spring semester starts, and new housing comes in..people will want NICS! And I have them....sell them for $15 with installation!

ALL GOOD.

According to the drivers on Belkins web site, the chipset in the card is rtl8139. Well known, works fine, built-in drivers in most Windows versions.

Ebates is pretty simple. A percentage of all purchases made through their site is deposited into an account that later disappears when they file bankruptcy.
The reason you don't see the deposit from your computer purchase is because it takes a long time to process. A really long time. Well, honestly, it just never happens.

I placed an order for 10 yesterday morning, and those show as delayed. I also placed an order this morning for 1, plus some Belkin wireless adapters, and the entire order shows being shipped, so maybe they are taking the orders for low quantities, or orders which included other items first.

This deal has been on many deal sites and many ppl definetly wont be getting their orders, so those who get it enjoy it, those who dont oh well.

If it offers any solace to those of you who are freaking out worrying...

If you ordered early (I don't know how early, I honestly can't say, I ordered when there were only 12 replies to the thread) you will get your stuff (at least, my stuff already shipped) I ordered 4 and the status is shipped including a tracking number.

Peace

Well people care because this is supposed to be a hotdeals board, not a ebayers reseller board. When people buy 300 they ruin it for everyone else. My order now has been delayed too. They have also removed this card totally from their web store.

Got in on the deal earlier this morning when there were only a few posts. Checked email this afternoon and received confirmation:

Estimated Ship Date: on or before Dec 17, 2001

If I get these okay but I will not cry if it does not happen. $13.06 shipped is not bad for 15. I sure won't resell them, they are just for myself and some friends...

Hey Robs TV

If BNC works for you then so be it. There is always a Luddite among us.

If you ever worked with BNC in a production environment in a medium sized shop then it is not
funny. Maintenance costs become overwhelming very quickly.

Using TP is not very expensive today and so much more flexible. Every try to put a print server or a
fax server on a BNC network? On a TP network it is fairly easy (depends on the Network OS).

If using BNC makes you happy then good luck. Let the rest of us enjoy our ignorance in bliss.
