Requesting some guidance on a networking / router problem.
I have been using a Belkin N300 router for 6+ months with no issues. About 3 months ago, my ISP upgraded the ADSL broadband package to a fibre optic to home solution - the upgrade went smoothly and I have not had any issues until this weekend.
Since Sunday night, the Belkin Router Monitor problem that sits on my system tray has been constantly telling me that internet connection is lost. When this happens, the light on the router goes from green to red. Checking the router's security log shows that internet connection has indeed been lost and quickly resumed. The log shows numerous instances of the following:
Aug 29 21:51:48 (none) user.info wanstatus: Internet Status: Not Connected
Aug 29 21:51:57 (none) user.info wanstatus: Internet Status: Connected
This happen frequently like about a dozen times in 20 minutes - but in practical usage, I still seem to be able to browse the internet. I've tried ping tests and the return normal results. In the process of typing this post, I've already received notification of lost connection 3 times.
I called my ISP and tests on their side show the connection is "normal".
What gives? It is super annoying to have the Belkin router monitor tool pop up notifications constantly and I can't tell when I have a genuine internet connection lost and when it isn't "really" lost.
I'm using a PC running 32-bit Windows 7.
