I respect Ben Carson, but a neurosurgeon to lead HUD?

Respecting someone just because they're black? Ok.

WTF man? Where did the OP say anything about Carson's race?
Or maybe it was because he was once considered the foremost neurosurgeon in the world?I guess he must have stated he respected Carson based on this then:

Personally I think the man had a stroke a few years ago and has been hiding it.

Is it too shameful to admit that, for a little while, I thought Carson was the best choice for POTUS?

He is sometimes controversial, but I respect him because he is generally a knowledgeable person, a gentleman, a renown neurosurgeon saving people's life , and he will not force hatred onto other people, not because he is black.
Maybe you respect Trump just because he is white?
In 1987, Carson was the lead neurosurgeon of a 70-member surgical team that separated conjoined twins, Patrick and Benjamin Binder, who had been joined at the back of the head (craniopagus twins); the separation surgery held promise in part because the twin boys had separate brains.[96] Both boys entered the hospital "giggling and kicking" in preparation for surgery without which, it was said at the time, the seven-month-old twins would never have been able to crawl, walk, or turn over.[96] The Johns Hopkins surgical team rehearsed the surgery for weeks, practising on two dolls secured together by Velcro.[96] Although follow-up stories were few following the Binder twins' return to Germany seven months after the operation,[96] both twins were reportedly "far from normal" two years after the procedure, with one in a vegetative state.[96][97][98][99] "I will never get over this . . . Why did I have them separated?" said their mother, Theresia Binder, in a 1993 interview.[96] Neither twin was ever able to talk or care for himself, and both would eventually become institutionalized wards of the state.
In March 2013, Carson announced he would retire as a surgeon, saying: "I'd much rather quit when I'm at the top of my game."[102] His retirement became official on July 1, 2013
Who says I respect Trump? Literally the only time i've ever voted was in 2008 for Obama.

Heh. He said the pyramids were built by Joseph for grain storage-

In a bit of post-truth humor, it's been claimed that he doesn't remember running for President-

I'm not sure how funny that is....
That doesn't work either. Lots of people have good hand eye coordination, not too many are considered the top brain surgeon in the field, something, I submit, which can apparently be achieved by a functional idiot.Alright. I take it back. You respect him because he has good hand-eye coordination. Slightly less silly.

Surely all smart people know that the Pyramids were built as astronomical observatories, no?

Good grief man. You do know Carson was a hell of a surgeon right? I can hate the man's politics, don't think he is qualified for the post he was nominated for, but can still respect how he worked to achieve his professional success and his skills as a surgeon before entering the political realm.
"I was trying to kill somebody," Carson told a San Francisco audience in September. He wrote in his 1990 best-selling autobiography, "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story," in recounting an incident where as an adolescent he tried to stab a friend: "Grabbing the camping knife I carried in my back pocket, I snapped it open and lunged for the boy who had been my friend. With all the power of my young muscles, I thrust the knife toward his belly. The knife hit his big, heavy ROTC buckle with such force that the blade snapped and dropped to the ground."
