Lol. Being black, female or poor = muslim. I can think of a few ways they're different. I guess it's because i'm insane.

People saying Trump isn't fit to be president must have missed the part about him being a naturally born citizen. Fair enough. He missed that part too.
Incredible... Absolutely incredible.

Anyone else wanna take a crack at this? I'm completely dumbfounded by this.

Except we were talking about kookiness, not constitutionality. Maybe i'm mistaken. Did Carson state that it was prohibited by the constitution? I thought he was just stating his personal opinion.

wow, this is one glaringly in-expert series of backpedals from you.

lol.

His citizenship is not at all what is in question. Do you think you'll ever consider not being a simpleton?

In case it hasn't been covered in this latest rage thread...

"Certainly, it wasn't easy for those of African heritage who had not come here voluntarily and yet in their own way were immigrants themselves."

Never understanding any context must've made school difficult for you. Clearly parroting white nationalism, eg how abortion is just like slavery, is the same thing as sympathizing with the immigrant experience.

But I get it, I really do, diminishing slavery is so routine for conservatives that they just can't grasp why it's newsworthy. Hell, they even see it in everything other people do, too.

Show me a surgeon, not a lancer of boils, who has had a long career without sad consequences. My profession is health care and I've seen the good, bad and ugly. He has a very good record and that's not up for debate.

The rest? Memories have been stimulated by electrodes is a documented fact. The problem is that we've learned that this isn't a very good therapeutic tool except perhaps down the road for traumatic injuries.

1011 neurons? The human brain has on the order of 100 billion. Mystical? No, but mysterious. Once Richard Feynman said to the effect "if you say you understand quantum mechanics it means you don't understand quantum mechanics". The same can very well be applied to the brain. We know very little but yes it is finite and that has been my basis for discussions on the limits of science with others. "Compile a list of all things you aren't smart enough to know about". That could be reworded in a number of ways, but to the same end. We really don't know all that much and that includes Carson.

Yes, sorry..forgot the "caret" symbol. I don't deny Carson is a respectable surgeon. His explanation seems like an outlandish claim. It's difficult to grasp when a noted neurosurgeon's description of how the brain works seems less plausible than the plot of "Inside Out". But, Hey..if Ben Carson wants to operate on Donald Trump to stick electrodes in his brain so he can remember what he said from day to day, I say we let him!

Happy to help out. Which part didn't you understand?
Explain the part where you don't seem to understand what I'm telling you.

The opinion that an American citizen should be disqualified from becoming President due to their religious choice is a very strange opinion (kooky), since religion is not part of the requirements for being President.

Since being (or not) a specific religion is not a requirement, disqualifying someone for it is akin to disqualification based on gender, color or socio-economic status.

Since some part of the Federal government would be tasked with disqualification, that would amount to discrimination based on factors that are illegal.

I REALLY should not have needed to explain this.

Nice rebuttal buddy, I can see where you got your debate champion award from.

Since I'm an 'idiot', please educate me, oh wise one. But, don't try to use "Muslims r bad" or "Shari'a Law"; also, don't try to chalk it up to 'trolling', as that was the reason for my original, sarcastic reply.

I don't like what Carson said. Or that people acting like slavery isn't still a real thing in the world, and even in America. Slavery still very much exists in America today, and is far from all black.

No, apparently he referred to America as "a nation of immigrants". I'd say the wording he used was technically incorrect, though funnily enough everyone knew what he meant, ie. referring to the heritage of almost all modern-day Americans, and the rest of what he said makes sense with that. Ben Carson on the other hand just piled one idiotic and incorrect statement on top of another.

Oh really?

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/obama-also-referred-to-slaves-as-immigrants/ar-AAnZBMG

And perhaps, like some of you, these new arrivals might have had some moments of doubt, wondering if they had made a mistake in leaving everything and everyone they ever knew behind. So life in America was not always easy. It wasn’t always easy for new immigrants. Certainly it wasn’t easy for those of African heritage who had not come here voluntarily, and yet in their own way were immigrants themselves. There was discrimination and hardship and poverty. But, like you, they no doubt found inspiration in all those who had come before them. And they were able to muster faith that, here in America, they might build a better life and give their children something more.

I guess you and others will use the excuse that he didn't use the term "slave". I don't know what else someone of "African heritage who had not come here voluntarily" could be if not a slave? Quibble over wording, just like with Carson and immigrant. Yet not seeing the comparison and claim its not the same. That is my guess at the defense of Obama's statement.

Funny to see so many jump on Carson and Trump over this comment, claiming white nationalist like comments, as always. When the same outrage wasn't found about Obama. Quick search of titles, no thread made unless I missed it. Same story around here, people calling names and acting like they're on the righteous side, when in fact their side is as guilty or even more so.

What you appear to have quoted from me wasn't me, though I guess you know that.

A public official proposing policy that is blatantly unconstitutional seems to fit that definition. At least, I would like to hope that such a thing would be considered strange.

Public official? Proposing policy? Retired surgeons are not public officials, neither are presidential candidates. At least I'm pretty sure they aren't.
