interesting, I had 118fps (see sig for specs). What's your CPU-NB set at?

I havent touched my NB, it is at default spds, maybe our difference is down to ram ddr3 1333 vs ddr2 and I am using ubuntu 12.04.

I have an older Plasma TV, so I can max out pretty much any game on it haha. I don't want to upgrade it because it was a $3000 TV with still excellent image... and #2, I actually like the 1360x768 Resolution on my couch. It makes reading stuff online easy from my couch.

two things:
awesome photo:whiste:

forget that...

Doesn't seem to matter, whatever gain it's getting with that build isn't affected by recognizing quicksync or not.

Is there a command I'm missing?

What is your Intel GPU driver version?

Also, try using the GUI version. -> Simply select the "H.264 (Intel QSV)" encoder option from the "Video Encoder" dropdown menu on the "Video" tab.

So does this make more sense?

250 FPS

That's with QSV, barely any CPU usage at all. Basically all the work seems to be done on the iGPU.

Maybe I did something wrong...

Anyways here is the output of each..

QuickSync on the left, H.264 cpu only on the right.

Seems weird there is almost no cpu usage with QS, in fact the cpu doesn't even clock up fully just around 25% usage at 2.2GHz.

QS is faster than the CPU at stock, but even 4.2GHz with AVX(2) and FMA3 the CPU only version is faster.

Quality looks good, but the preset is set for best quality with QSV - even when using Android preset.

Edit: I was going to try the OpenCL version with my 7950 but it's not listed now

Just so you know there is likely a setting, or a combination of settings that will allow you to lock in the X18 multiplier on that chip. It varies by the board. Pretty sweet result though for being a full gigahertz under my w3520 and matching it's score.

I've looked through quite a bit and can't seem to find it. The instruction manual talks about it but I can't find the matching menu in the BIOS.
