Benchmark your Computer with the New Geekbench 3

[CHADBOGA]

I just noticed that Geekbench has been updated to version 3 and would now be considered a much more reliable benchmark than version 2.

Whilst this benchmark is going to be very popular for tablets and smartphones, you can get a free download and run it on your PC/Laptop as well.

With the free version, you are restricted to 32bit testing only, but still, should be some fun.

When you finish your benchmark run, it will automatically launch a browsing session in order to show your score.

The only other little quibble I would make, is that the benchmark seems unable to tell what speed you have overclocked your system to, as it shows what should be the default speed, rather than the overclocked speed.

More on that below.

Anyway, go here to download GeekBench 3 & don't forget to mention what your actual clockspeed is, of your system that has run this benchmark.

Anyway, my results on my 4.02Ghz i5 3570K are :





Now keep in mind, despite what the below screen says, my CPU is actually running at 4.02Ghz

Anyway I have found i7 950@ stock(/w SMT) scores for x64 windows platform and basically this little chip I have is 16% slower at around the same clock in ST benchmark and 47% slower in MT portion(also same clock, if 950 could reach 4.3Ghz stable 24/7 on air cooling without burning up in flames ). Pretty amazing bang for the buck considering that it is Nehalem I'm comparing it to and it is running faster x64 binaries.

I scanned the exe file with ICC_patch but alas i couldnt
install the file because i m with XP on my laptop but you
could try to patch the application with the said soft and
do a run to check if there s meaningfull differences.

I don't have the ICC_patch unfortunately . I tried googling but found no reliable source to DL it from.

Would of been a tad higher if I didn't have a few things running the background.
