Yeah, I noticed that nice low voltage at 4.9 as well, hyperthreading still enabled even. He just might, and if he doesn't that's just wrong for him to get such a chip. :awe:

I think he needs to tweak his settings, he could get more performance at the same clocks with a bit of work. ()

5.1GHz core 5.1GHz cpuNB - This is all the higher I will go on my $50 air cooler :sneaky:

There is an itch to dust off my custom loop, must resist. :|

uncore is at 35X

BLCK 100

RAM is some lower end Corsair DDR 1600 memory

not sure if the benchmark responds to uncore but it definitely responds to RAM speed

what's your RAM running at?

G-Skill Sniper 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 2T

Running them at 2400MHz 10-13-12-28 1T.

Probably a combination of your ram, and that uncore. Raising your uncore is going to feed your cpu quicker so you might lose the clock speed @ voltage that you're currently achieving, though maybe not.

4.6 35X UNCORE, DDR3 1800

4284 / 16787

4.6 35X UNCORE, DDR3 2000

4.8 35X UNCORE, DDR 2200

4549 / 17607, my top benchmark

http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/8920

4.8 35X UNCORE, DDR 2400

NO BOOT

got a strange result using 4.9 35X UNCORE, DDR3 1800. I checked that it still had HT enabled.

4517 / 14545

http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/8945

second attempt to run 4.9 35X UNCORE, DDR3 1800 resulted in a BSOD 101 code

Also BSODed 101 using 4.9 35X UNCORE DDR 2133 some time earlier

Could not boot using 4.8 40X or 35X UNCORE DDR3 2200

CHADBOGA: I just bought a licensed version and the scores increase in 64 bit mode.

Yeah, but I doubt most people here will do that and this is just meant to be a bit of lighthearted fun, so comparing the 32bit scores on the freebie version would appear to be the way to go.

And even better considering it s compiled with ICC
with numerous "intel only paths"....

Geekbench 3 for Windows is built with Visual C++ 2012 Update 2.

Geekbench 3 for OS X, Linux are built with Clang 3.3.

I'm not sure where the "Intel-only" paths are coming from in the executable. We'll dig into it and I'll post here once we've figured it out.

Your vcore was too low, 4.6GHz was unstable with the faster uncore.

124 is generally vcore

101 is generally uncore.

Edit: As to your strange results, check the timings, are you manually setting them or letting the board auto them?

2500K @stock, 2780 single 8820 multi. Only using 4GB single channel RAM and it's been a few months since I last fresh installed so that's probably causing a drop.

You don't need to fresh install every few months. Doubt that would help your score outside of the margin of error for this test.

The compiler used certainly adds a bias in some inter processor family comparisons.

LOL! At least it's not as bad as GB 2 where it showed a 4770k slower than a SHIELD...

FX-6300 at 4.2ghz.

Single Core: 2221
Multi-Core: 9377

The single threaded increase over Ph II is so small it's irrelevant; kind of sad since it has been 5 years.
