I'm trying to see if everything is working correctly on my my new computer (my first build). I downloaded the 3dmark app. after seeing several people reference the scores in relation to performance. My question is simply given my hardware, is score what you would expect. Test was run with all defaults. Thanks,

GJ

seems pretty slow my for a 9800 Pro, My 9500 Pro is within like 600 points of that so I thnk you must have something screwed up. I think that should be around 18000 maybe highier with out tweaking. Do you have AA or AF on?

All video card settings are at default. I believe that both AA and AF were set to "Application Preference".

How about a more general question. For a first time computer builder, what's the best way to go about making sure everything is operating correctly and "within spec"?

You score over 12k with a 9500p? If that's so, then people would of stopped paying for a 300 dollar 9800 a long time ago.

You should score around 15k-17k with a 9800p and a 2.8c.

Found my issue. I needed to update the chipset drivers. Reran 3dMark01 and got 16900 which is closer to what I was expecting. Thanks for the feedback.

I got 18,700 but 16,900 isn't that bad. I dunno what the problem woudl be though.
