I did "help", but I would also like to point out that you're a lazy idiot that obviously can't do his own research.
Opteron 165 > Any Intel dual core
Opteron 144/146 > Any Intel single core
/thread.
- Just ignore him. His posts have nothing to do with this topic, just sit back and laugh.I'm pretty sure that the 3.8GHZ Intel would beat the Opteron 144 in many benchies.
The X2 3800+ may not be 100% faster than the P4 640, but I'm still wondering if you even read the review. I've made it simple for you and calculated the differences in some of the tests.Originally posted by: Mr Bob

- Losing by half? What benchmark are you looking at?!?

lol, I am an idiot? And you reply to a thread regarding x2 3800+ vs the 640, with information on Opterons lmao
It's people like you who make this board so funny to visit.

- Hmm, all I read was "144" and decided to ignore your post.I never said the 144 could beat any Intel single core in STOCK PERFORMANCE, but in overall "betterness". More performance for your money, less heat, and more overclockability. When the 144 is overclocked to ~2.7ghz+, it'll most likely beat the 670. Also, my posts have EVERYTHING to do with the topic. You're just an idiot who obviously is too stuborn to listen to other people. The Opteron is exactly the same thing as the Athlon 64 line, but with higher grade silicon made to last longer, and generally, double the cache. A Socket 939 Opteron 144 costs about the same as the equally clocked 3000+ Venice, but with the aforementioned benefits. And I already gave you benchmarks about the 3800+ vs Intel single core, which you just blatently ignored.

Btw, your numbers are off, way off....Are you using this benchmark for your numbers? http://www.anandtech.com/printarticle.aspx?i=2484
- "Microsoft WME 9.0 HD: 65% faster " equals to 39.5% faster. Its really early here, and I am working off of 4 hours of sleep, so I might be missing something VERY simple.

Yes you are.
Faster indicates that the slower cpus performance is used as base:
(3.54-1.14)/1.14 = 65.4%
what you have calculated is how much slower the P4 is, which naturally uses the X2s performance as base:
(3.54-1.14)/3.54 = 39,5%
- I see the error now, much more easier to see after a shower and some breakfastOriginally posted by: ArneBjarne

LOL. What ever man, Mark is a highly valued (IMO) and highly regarded member of this forum. We tried to help you out, but it seems that you constantly dis-regard our opinions. If you wanted some tripe that backs up your predujces then go to like Intellovers.com or something.
