Well I don't know what happened in this thread, but after the semi-excellent reboot of Hot Pursuit, I'm glad to see it doesn't have a 30 FPS limit.
WTB 980 Ti results since I'm semi-interested in this game.
And your point is? Faster is faster.
And all unplayable. What a super win there. Cinematic effect?
98%+ on steam got 1080p or below. Think on that for a while.
I myself got a 1440p and I belong to a tiny niche. 4K is an ultra niche.
And if you think 4K is the future, why worry about cards that get obsolete soon?
I see the spin now is to dismiss higher resolutions. So the 980 was only a 1080p card all this time? So sad for the most advanced gpu uarch to be this mediocre at scaling in higher resolutions.
Longeveity and Maxwell are the new euphemism for "water and oil".
Does DSR not work on Nvidia cards? Or do Nvidia users not user DSR?
Point being it's slower at resolution u actualy can play the game at 1080p an 1440p so who cares?
It's actually an extremely important result to me. At 30 FPS it means it is playable at a console level. That's playable to my friends who are used to 30 FPS. I mean, I watched them play FAllout 4 on Xbox One, that is NOT 30 fps it dips below 30 FPS so regularly it's digusting.
But even more importantly, it means that SLI GTX 980s would be wrecked in this game if CF/SLI support is in it compared to CF R9 390s.
That's terrible since I had especially considered Maxwell due to my PSU. However, when those cards fall apart at 4K, that's a pretty meh sign when that's the biggest reason I'd get SLI/CF.
So maybe you don't care about resolutions where the GTX 980 gets spanked, but others may so don't pretend like it doesn't exist.
How many people do you know that uses DSR or VSR? I know 0.
Just because you know no one thats uses DSR/VSR that does not mean DSR / VSR is not being used. This kind of reasoning is called argumentative.

So make a poll. Its something people have to select on their own. Meaning it will be a small amount by any means.
I'll happily have some 980ti numbers for sale. It'll only cost $650 up front and I'll provide all the benchmark runs you want.
Kepler taking a dirt nap as usual in these modern games.
I suspect HBM requires separate optimizations from AMD for it to perform, because they have had to release Fiji specific "Game Ready" drivers for every single major title so far in 2016.
This is likely, especially since AMD said they hired 2 engineers specifically to manage Fiji memory. Ironically this may make it driver dependent to maximize the memory, like the 970. This was revealed before the card launched, however.
This has some important implications for AMD actually, they can't count on games optimized for consoles to run well on their PC GPUs out of the box for HBM GPUs, this means they have to work harder with their own "Game Ready" drivers moving forward.
Fiji once again looks very unoptimized out of the box here, similar to all the 2016 AAA titles we've seen. Hawaii and other GCN SKUs are performing superbly.

ps. pcgameshardware.de has some ridiculous factory OC models vs basically stock cards as usual though. Look at that 960 vs 380. lol
The more I look into this, the more I think Fiji is architecturally flawed.
