http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/benq-bl3200pt-qhd-monitor,3898.html

We’ll wrap up by mentioning this monitor’s terrific value. At a street price of around $800, it isn’t that much more expensive than rank-and-file 27-inch models. Its performance is equal to or better than all but the most expensive professional products, and the BL3200PT completely outclasses everything in the contrast department. Gamers even get slightly better response and lag than most 60 Hz IPS screens.

Seems to be a good alternative to the expensive 30" 2560x1600 monitors. What are your thoughts on this monitor?

Overall they seem to have similar conclusions.

I just don't trust Tom's, ever. That's me though, YMMV.

I think the measured comparisons with other screens is more accurate and in depth. As well as pretty extensive visual comparison charts.

Your res is too low for a 32 inch. Everything will be big, and you wont have much real state.

2560res is too big, You need a buy a Sammy 32 inch 4K 1ms.. But you wont be able to afford that.

I just bought a cheap BenQ to replace my old BenQ 3 weeks ago, my impression is BenQ is pretty decent brand, got 1 dead pixel though which i never really noticed. I like their design in general, and fact that benq always got most of the right connectors. quality wise i got no complaint, last benq lasted 10 years.

however, i do got 1 Q for u, if you playing game with it, wouldn't it better to get say 2xcheap 24"? so you can do duel screen gaming? you prob get more screen realestate, can also use for every day stuff.

Depends on desktop space and if a center bezel annoys you.

I've owned this monitor for over a month and absolutely love it. It's huge and I don't notice any lag when gaming. Color reproduction is solid as is the construction.

It won't compete with the high speed TN panels for gaming, but I'm really happy I made the leap on this one.

Acer still own BenQ? Or are they separate entities now?

I love mine! Replaced my 30" H-IPS DoubleSight monitor with the BL3200PT. The contrast is spectacular and there is zero "IPS glow".

Would you mind sharing more specific experience - did you miss the vertical space when switching between the 30" and this one? I'm torn because I really value vertical space and currently use 16:10, but would you say it's not even an issue and just go for it? Do you ever think back and wish you had slightly more vertical space with this new display?

I agree the larger screen size would be great, going from 30" to 32", but technically you are downgrading the total number of pixels and losing vertical space, which gives me slight hesitation in pulling the trigger on the 32" compared to the 30", thoughts?.

I have both the 32" BL3200PT and 27" XL2720Z (144MHz) 1080P...

I tried so hard for weeks to stay with the BL3200PT on my desktop - I loved the size, though the older eyes likes slightly larger default text (before scaling) - Colors, some difference between the two, however the XL2720Z does OK with colors as well - I will say since I play mostly First Person Shooters (COD Series including Ghosts, BF4, Crisis, etc...) that in dark spots the 27" did a better job being able to spot people hidiing.

...Ultimately though for me was input lag (at least in my mind - Now maybe for me getting bit older the 60Hz vs 144Hz combined with the input lag differences seemed just enough that is was affecting my game play (at best I held my own in FPS while using 32" vs. nearly always being in the top 3 or 4 while using 27").

The BL3200PT is a perfect example of a monitor that could use g-sync.

One more point I noticed, for the most part I'm in the Nvidia camp for Graphic Cards, however, with the BL3200PT, even my wife noticed a better, and more smooth picture with AMD Graphics Card (GTX 780Ti and/or GTX Titan Black vs. R9-290X).

Its sad as my BL3200PT sits on my spare PC unused right now, part of me wonders about SLi couple Titan's and see how that works out as I do miss the screen size and resolution.

Thanks for adding your thoughts on the monitor. I'm torn between this and the 27" Asus Swift monitor, although it is harder for me to justify the $800 just for the G-sync and high speed panel. I'm leaning toward the Asus because I'll be using this it for gaming, but $800 for a TN is a bit steep.

The physical vertical space appears to be about the same as the 30". I'm only losing a small amount of pixels. I prefer the added width and the fact that 16:9 is a more common standard for media.

The number one thing that prompted me to buy the monitor is the great contrast. LED backlighting and the absence of IPS glow are other factors. Blacks are black instead of dark grey.

I don't know if guys realize this but this monitor is uses an AMVA panel. That's why it has an amazing contrast ratio and deep blacks without "IPS glow". It's also why I've always recommended VA monitors to anybody who isn't an "MLG" gamer or needs colour critical work done because these panels just blow away anything else in the picture quality department. Now that AU Optronics are finally producing higher res panels many of you guys should be interested.
