Its been out for over a month now... Check out http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1066372

General opinion is that its an excellent monitor, but the lack of 1:1 scaling scares some away. Since its a 16:10, it stretches HD content vertically slighty to fill the screen, and there is no option to turn this off.

Although its not the most elegant solution, if using the monitor as a PC Monitor you can use powerstrip to do 1:1 scaling yourself.

True, but any device hooked up via HDMI (blueray, HD-DVD, Upconverting DVD, HD Cable Box, PS3) your gonna be stuck with a slight vertical stretch.

I like newegg and all, but I won't buy an LCD from them until they fix this:

LCD Dead-Pixel Policy

Newegg.com sells many products such as Notebooks and Monitors that feature LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens. Newegg.com adheres to the dead-pixel policy that is observed by the majority of our manufacturers. In order to declare any product with an LCD screen "defective" and eligible for replacement or refund through any applicable Newegg.com Return Policy, there must be a minimum of 8 (eight) dead LCD pixels.

I may be mistaken, but i think BenQ has a 0-dead pixel policy, so you could always swap it out with them.

Also, Newegg dosent take refunds/replacements on ANY lcd 24" and over, so even if it had more than 8, i think your stuck with BenQ.

16:10 is the standard format for nearly all widescreen computer monitors just as 5:4 is the standard for normal monitors. 16:9 and 4:3 are the TV standards.

16:10 is an incorrect ratio, but the general public is too dumb and marketers are too smart. The correct ratio should be 8:5 and that is larger than 16:9; but Joe Public would see that (16:9) and assume that 8:5 must be a smaller screen. Poor old dumb Joe.

Based on technical specifications and early reviews, I think it beats it. But don't let me be the last word on it.

And may I suggest a much better alternative for those with a few hundred dollars more and a bit more desk / wall space: Westinghouse 37w3 @ Sams Club

Westinghouse is packing some serious HDMI value in to their displays. But it is commonly said that the overall picture quality of their TV's could uses some improvment, however it still is one of the best buys for the budget minded person.
