Looks pretty solid. The photos seem to show a ton of flexibility in the movement of the base and it's like $50 cheaper than the Asus 27". I just wish I got money this week instead of next lol.

This is the real deal. If you've ever seen Vega on [H] (CallSignVega on youtube and possibly here), he's running 3 of these in portrait with the 2D Lightboost mod to have a huge blur-less experience (though I think he's running something like a 3970X at 5+Ghz and 4 Titans).

This monitor seems to be a very good one if you want the size for that rez. I picked one up (thanks again Less!) to sit next to my 27" 1440 @ 120Hz Overlord, so depending on the game, I can have the best of either experience (hopefully).

Finally! I just wish it had a slightly off number to classify it differently from Soap Opera Mode ("120Hz"). It's been ages since I've been able to play Quake 3 at its best refresh rate (120Hz) on a CRT. It has been the biggest drawback to FPS gaming on LCD panels.

You should check the sticky at the top of VC&G for monitors that do real 120+ Hz and do yourself a favor and learn about 2D Lightboost (if you're unfamiliar). I think it's what you're looking for... and this monitor is one that offers both.

this looks like a nice deal and trying to get the best for the money right now, Is there a min video card that will run this at 120, say a 7950?
I only hear the negatives about Lightboost and dim picture. How true is this?

It's the same company as Beach Camera, I think they rebranded themselves to give themselves more of an "internet tech superstore" appeal. I've bought a few times from them and had to return something that didn't work out, and they were great about it. No hesitation recommending them as an etailer.

Great deal on this panel too, I've had the VG278H for over a year and love it. The increased size and performance over the 1st-gen 120Hz panels are fantastic, whether you use this for 2D@120Hz or 3D.

One thing users who are buying this for 2D@120Hz may want to look into is whether or not you need to buy the 3D Vision emitter to get 120Hz to work. I think there was a hack/mod that enabled LightBoost with AMD cards, so that may work for those who have no interest in 3D.

Yup. ToastyX's Strobelight. Great little program that makes for easy switching between Lightboost modes and allows Lightboost on AMD cards.

I just ordered one, thanks for the post. I've been wanting to get away from my 1680x1050 res 120hz (viewsonic), it was a great monitor but I upload to youtube and want to show true 1080p thanks.

Does anyone know if there is a way to purchase an extended warranty? It currently has 1 year, and the closest model I could find to match was the Asus VG278HE @ 379.99 for $50 more.

Asus has 3 years included, but I'm not entirely sure how necessary monitor warranties are outside of initial power on. So far most monitors have died on me after a few years of use so they would be out of a 3 year warranty period anyways lol.

*Edit* tough choice. Love that BenQ has more inputs options over the Asus: DP + an additional HDMI.

I bought three KDS 26" LCD monitors from them, like 3, maybe 4 years ago.

Edit: They (the KDS) are TN, but they are glorious. Great LCDs, IMHO. Nice and big, sharp, nice picture. VGA/DVI/HDMI, with speakers.
