Hey guys!
I've aqcuired a ton of parts. My work was selling a bunch of old 400Mhz deskpros for $20Cdn a pop so I bought 20. I'm putting together my first real beowulf cluster!!!!
I don't have any video cards in any of the machines except the control node since none came with video(think telnet.) Here are the hardware specs x20
PII400mhz
Compaq Motherboard
10base-t Ethernet
Floppy drive
Cdrom
NO harddrive (company security)
NO videocard (I have no idea why)
So I've isntalled a hard drive and video card on the host node and installed Redhat 5.2 for size. I have set up 19 terminals as dumb with a floppy for network boot
I would love to use this cluster for ECCP (that's 8Ghz-estimating 3.8million per second) BUT when I try to mount the root on hostnode and run the application I can't on each node. I can only get it to run on the host.
I know that the source code is available for it but I haven't looked at it. If it's in FORTRAN it should be possible to use d BERT to convert ECCP as a proper parallel app, correct?
That's something that I'm going to have to look at tomorrow but what I'm hoping is that someone has already done this.
Does anyone know where to get a parrallel version of ECCP?
