Looking for the best PSU for a mining rig (6*GTX 1070) and a G1840 CPU. Theoretically I should be able to get away with 800W but rather have a leeway. It's going to be running for 24/7/365.
Thanks in advance.

Only 8x 6+2 PCIe power connectors, meaning you'll be limiting yourself to GTX 1070 models with only a single 8 pin PCIe power connector.
Many models are 6+6 or 8+8 pin however, the reference model is an 8 pin however. Most OC'd models, or models with bigger coolers however will have more than a single PCIe power connector.

So you're either getting 6 reference model GTX 1070s, or some other model making sure they only have a single 8 pin PCIe connector, or you get a bigger/different PSU.

The only one I know with 12x 6+2 Pin PCIe power cables is the Rosewill TOKAMAK 1500W which is available on ebay, but out of stock at newegg. 12 connectors would allow you to use any GTX 1070 models,

I didn't think of that! I was thinking FE but interestingly Strix only needs 1 as well.

That Seasonic looks good but is it reliable? Haven't really heard them come up anywhere when discussing PSUs and I rather not skimp on the PSU.

Seasonic is one of the most well respected PSU brands from the last 2 decades.

They're top shelf

Also, keep in mind, any replacement GPUs if you have any failures will need to be similar PCIe power configuration since you'll be at, or close to the limit of this PSU

Unfortunately, all the Titanium units directly from Super Flower are only covered by 5 year warranty and Super Flower's RMA service is known to be pretty crappy. It's best to buy Super Flower units under the EVGA SuperNova brand, but in that range the only Titanium unit is 1600W.

If we're going to mention other good OEMs, then why stop at Super Flower (the Leadex platform, more specifically)? Why not also mention:
Flextronics (Corsair AXi series)
Delta (Antec HCP Platinum series)
CWT (Corsair HXi series)

Ye I was thinking EVGA and Corsair units mainly.

Tried SuperFlower once, blew two of my GPUs and a Mobo, still waiting for them to do anything about it even after multiple emails (like 10+) so definitely not going down that route.

Super Flower manufacturers some of EVGA's best-rated units, so if you're mad at them, that's probably not the way to 'stick-it-to-um'.

How does Andyson rate nowadays?
I have few modded BFG EX-1000 PSUs (Andyson AD-MT9) that are still going strong after several years of 24/7/365 operation.

Ye I'm thinking of getting the EVGAs because I have read Super Flower is good but I don't want to get their direct brand because their customer support is absolutely useless and that one shi**y PSU cost me close to $1k (though luckily AMD were kind enough to help with the GPUs).

How does Andyson rate nowadays?

800W Gold - nothing special
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=510

850W Platinum - excellent but uses a few unusual brand polymer caps (Zhenhua)
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=448

1200W Platinum - excellent but again skimps just a bit on the capacitors (Teapo, one weird Kingcom cap)

And then there's this little beast... 700W Titanium (from 2015!)

Hard to find Andyson units in the US.

OP sorry about your experience with Superflower. I personally swear by EVGA (rebranded Superflower units) but I have had nothing but trouble out of my one Seasonic unit. So anecdotal evidence is not always useful.

I would just grab a G2 and call it a day. That being said, when did the EVGA PSUs get so expensive? I don't remember paying that much for my 1300W G2 . . .
