Hey guys I appreciate all the advice. I actually bought 2 gentle typhoons last night though before hearing all this new advice, but I think I'll still be happy.

IINM, some (all?) Noctuas have great CFM but low statis pressure.
Seems to do fine in my P183 though.

Getting the high-pitch whine on my model 13 GT. Didn't have it with the model 12 (or maybe I did, but didn't notice it?). Going to need a replacement if it doesn't work itself out. Wonder if this is a defect or normal noise that some can hear and others cannot.

Push/Pull on a H50 is overkill. The Rad is too narrow to require/benefit from it. This is from what I have heard anyway.

not if both fans are on low.

Then u cheat static by getting almost double at the cost of 3/4 extra noise, when u compare it with a simular single static fan.

Well I know nothing about fan controllers. I'm using 2 200 mm fans and I'll also be using the 2 scythe 120 mm fans. Anyone know of a quality controller for at least 4 fans?

I own 5 Scythe GTs--3 1850 rpm, 2 1150 rpm. Of those, 2 (1 of each) are perfect, and the other 3 all make noises, either bearing chatter or a variable high-pitch sound. All of them cool better on a heatsink than other fans I've tried.

I just built a new SFF rig. The case is a Lian-Li V354 and I'm running a i5 2500k cpu cooled by a Corsair H50 and I have two fans running it in a push pull config. Normally I prefer a Scythe S Flex fan like the F model for best airflow and noise but I tried a new fan. Noctua NF-P12 model. Twice the price of the Scythe model but its noise level is a few decibels lower. The two fans are powered by the mobo so they run at full speed. The other three case fans are run by a controller built into the case. I can tell you one thing is that these fans are very very quiet. Cannot even tell they are running unless you open up the case to look.

My two recommendations are the Scythe S Flex F model and the Noctua NF-P12. If you want to keep to a lower budget get the Scythe. If you have money to burn then get the Noctua.

Quick rundown of new build:
Lian-Li V354, 4xNoctua NF-P12-1300 Fans, Intel i5 2500k, ASUS P8P67-M Pro, 8GB GSkill RAM, HIS 6950, WD 1TB Black hdd, Corsair H50 CPU Cooler, Corsair HX850w PSU, Sony Optiarch AD-7710H-01, W7 Pro 64bit, I-INC 28" 1920x1200 LCD,Logitech G5, Saitek Eclipse II

I have two front S-Flex E 1200RPM fans and the new Gentle Typhoon AP-29 2900RPM for my Antec Kuhler rad. I looked over every shop I could find in Akihabara for the AP-15's; completely sold out.

The AP-29 is unbearably loud, but on my fan controller it is manageable with no bearing noise down to 1000RPM... while at full speed while gaming (with my headphones on!) it manages to keep my 4.6GHz i5 2500K under 50C.
