I have try SAMSUNG 700IFT, SAMSUNG 753DF, Sony E200, Viewsonic EF70, NEC 75F, MAG 796FT, PHILIPS 107P and LG 795FT PLUS.

I personally feel that the LG 795FT PLUS is the best, 2nd will be SAMSUNG 700IFT. Did you agree?

I am about to purchase a 700 nf mainly because it has the best hz at the best resolutions. 1600x1200 at 75 hz, unbeatable! Also, Samsung has been rated as the second best just second to Sony Trinitron. Another thing, the monitor is pretty cheap in my opinion.
I have seen places go as low as 244 plus 5 for shipping.

No offense, but OF COURSE!!! Say Intel makes a chip that costs 1.2 billion dollars but it it 10000 times better than the fastest chip out today. You still wouldn't have people suggesting to buy the super chip because of the insane price tag.

Well you asked for the best not the cheapest. Sony G200....

Remember you get what you pay for. Alot of people talk about bang for the buck, well thats find for some people but some of us simply want the best..

That's why I only buy scsi & quality components.

Yes the flatrons will look better than the IFTs. But you gotta try the Samsung 700NF before making a conclusion. Because you eyes just may like the looks of the aperture grille better. The Sony G200 is expensive, but I dont think its anyway better than the Samsung because the refresh rates and resos are the same. Warrantywise Samsung will also be better.

I have seen the Sony and Flatron and Samsung side by side in comparison
the Sony G200 did look the best in my opinion
its text are clearer, colors are more vivid
if you try using all of them at 1600/75
sony text are substantially clearer

just my opinion

People are having problems with CTXs. A guy on the forum has 2 of them died on him within a month or something. Scary. I'd stick to something better.

You're gonna have to disregard the poor packaging, high damaged on arrival rate, bad warranty, and nightmarish tech support.

LXi you so fukin funny

poor packaging? how do you want them packed? in wooden or steel boxes for more protection?
high failure rate? i have bought more than 10 Sony E200/G200/G400 for myself and friends and i am yet to see one that is 'dead on arrival'
crappy technical support? does sony need to tell you how to turn your monitor on? how to plug in the cables?
bad warrenty? how many years do you want? 10?

Just STFU and read this:

Midnight Rambler

"Re: the brownish "spots". There was a thread here a couple weeks ago with several other G400 owners reporting the same phenomenon.

Personally, I have now been through (4) G400's, all of which exhibited blue misconvergence on the left hand side of the display. Also, all 4 units arrived in what I thought to be good condition, but upon opening the boxes, EVERY one of them was in the same condition - the monitor was knocked completely out of its foam "nest", and the foam support pieces were broken in to several pieces each. Sony TS then blamed all the misconvergence on "rough handling" and refused to help me further. I could see this happening with one unit, but the chances for this happening 4 times in a row are astronomical. Additionally, the first 2 units were sent UPS, but #3 was sent FedEx 2-day, and #4 was sent FedEx overnight, all in an effort to try and fix the so-called "handling problem".

Growing increasingly frustrated, I called Onvia again and this time asked to talk to a supervisor. I was connected to a nice lady named Megan Mathos, who, to my surprise, was already investigating the huge number of returns Onvia was experiencing with the G400's. One customer had even sent her pictures of how his unit arrived, and the inside packaging damage was exactly the same as what all (4) of my units looked like. Since then, Onvia personnel, myself, and a couple other of their customers have been tinkering with these units and their packaging to try and figure out what is happening (Sony is of ZERO help, not just to me, they are also giving Onvia a hard time ...). Bottomline, their packaging design has several flaws such that it is very easy for this internal damage to occur during shipping. For instance, when you put your hands in to the carton handhold cutouts and lift up, this will often catch the top foam pieces inside the carton and knock them off the monitor. The monitor is then free to fall out of its nest. We found several other potential problems as well, but the bottom line is that Sony has a problem, though they won't admit it. They continue to insist that it is due to rough handling by the couriers, but given that this monitor weighs ~70lbs., even UPS would have a hard time tossing such a package around. Onvia is going to be dropping the G400, and possibly all Sony monitors, until Sony resolves their problems. If you ordered your G400 from Onvia, I would suggest contacting them, and specifically Megan Mathos at extension 54627. She is overseeing this problem and will work with you to resolve it. Plus, I'm sure she would appreciate the additional data ..."

Thats just one(1) example, MANY members here have suffered similar problems and had nightmares with their tech support. Now stop kissing big companies' ass and face reality.

ViewSonic is my personal preference basically just on past usage, they've worked great for me, never given me any grief and the picture is good quality. Nice price to
I'm looking at a 19" flatscreen .25dp (center) that does 1600x1200x77Hz for under $800 Canadian. That's a whole mighty $500 US

That's pretty good for a 19" Flatscreen.

I think the sony's are slightly better, but they are alot more pricey.
Depends on how much you want to spend.
I'd put Sony at the top if you don't mind paying the extra.

Edit: Sidenote: The LG and ViewSonics are all based on sony Trinitron tubes..so they are pretty close to the sony's.

Im surprised still how many people get these wrong. ViewSonic Flats are NOT based on Trinitron, they're based on Mitsubishi's DiamondTron NF. And LGs, nope, not even aperture grille, it's their own modified-shadow mask Flatrons tubes.

Syborg1211,
Did you try other before? Most of I list at above can do 1600x1200 at 75 hz. Sony Trinitron is not a Flatscreen, Sony FD Trinitron is real Flat. I haven't try Sony G200, but Sony E200 just have a good vivid colors, MAG and Viewsonic is more vivid then E200.

LXi,
Yes, I haven't try with 700NF and I will try it. But, did you know, IFT and DF is DynaFlat Technology, thats mean Flat screen, Flat image and 'CURVED INNER'. LG use Flatron Technology, thats mean screen, image and inner are all Flat. Samsung Natural Flat is DiamondTron Natural Flat Technology, is that same as Flatron?

Noriaki,
LG is same as Samsung, one of the top 4 tubes manufacturer in the world. And it base on own design with FLATRON Technology.

Here I want to say, don't compare with brand, please compare with model. I know sony and viewsonic is good, but if E200 or EF70 compare with IFT or Flatron, it still have a different.

Finally, I want to mention that the Best 'Overall'.

GET THE SONY G200!!! These are so flat, they are practically concave! The color is SO rich, when i put it next to my old monitor, a Samsung (when trying to run dual monitors), damn the old one looked worst than crap! Also the G series have nice 3 year warranty on labor AND parts. Not like them older ones like the SX series or E series. One complaint is the *click* when changing resolutions, esp on splash screens. Also, some can't take the damper wires (doesn't bother me at ALL). One more thing, the anti reflective coating is good, but for some reason, i like it when there is a glare (i'm demented) as it looks more "crystal clear." Dont' waist your time with the E series, they are terible for the price. Viewsonics have pretty good color if you don't want to spend as much. The A series is pretty nice too with a silvery finish. Not as nice as the G series, but worth looking into.
