My other 19" Hitachi monitor has not given me a SINGLE problem, and I purchased it in 98. Now the new CM721F monitors absolutely the best. They are flat screen and the clarity is unbeatable! You should read the reviews for this model at Newegg.com. I now have the Black Version of this monitor and couldn't be happier. The images are vibrant and brilliant!

maxcompg, don't listen to any of those guys, they don't know what they are talking about. Get the Hitachi CM721F(B)....black preferrable. The buttons are so user friendly when it comes to adjusting brightness/contrast/size/etc. You can get it for $266 or $277(black) from monitors direct.

Also, these monitors are .20mm horizontal dot pitch! Quite liquid smooth if you ask me!

I agree Hitachi is a good brand to buy, in fact, its the one I have purchased (being fed-exed as i write this), but also keep in mind that samsung is the crt manufacture for hitachi. Go to hitachi.com and download the pdf specs on the cm721fb. Scroll down to near the bottom and you'll see right under c the section CRT manufacturer - Samsung.

Samsung can and does make good quality products. Take a look at the 957mb. Looks a lot like the hitachi.

And, while I wouldn't give my friend the satisfaction of admitting that he was right, I would just reflect on all the years gone by that I was living someone elses dreams.......

Dude, your an FN riot.

The Hitachi CM721F can run at 85Hz up to 1280x1024, and 75Hz at 1600x1200...but using this as a good reason to purchase the NEC over the Hitachi I would say is quite poor. Tell me, how many people do you actually know that runs their monitors at 1600x1200???? You basically have to get a magnifine glass at that res. anyhow! The icons are so tiny, and I myself would never want to go beyond 1280x960!

Sure, if you're going for a 21" monitor, then 1600x1200 is just fine. But we're talking 19" here! So instead of railing on me, take things in their overall perspect and look from a logical point of view. I have a feeling you're going more by feelings that practicallity.

I run my 19" at 16x12. I wouldn't buy the Hitachi because it won't do 16x12 at 85hz...
