Best 1920 x 1200 Laptop

Need to get a new mobile workstation and was hoping to keep the price tag between $2500 and $3500 (preferrably on the lower end of this). My must haves include a 1920 x 1200 screen resolution and I would prefer a top-end processor (e.g., the Qx9300 or the >2.8 GHz Core2Duo).

What do you recommend? Why?

To be honest...yes; however, I am interested in the forums opinion as well. I find that the laptop market place is a bit overcrowded and since it takes 10 minutest to configure a laptop on any given site, I figured that I may be missing an option or two which is out there.

Dell is pretty ridiculous in this regard with their 4 portals and countless laptop lines with very little meaningful difference between the different models.

HP seems to have a decent option on the market with the new 1920x1080 model which can be configured with the QX9300 for <$3000 but I am not such a fan of the 1080p resolution.

xps etc is more for gaming oriented

Just out of curiousity...are you paying for this or is your company?

Typically, mobile and performance are kind of mutually exclusive.

Reason I ask is that for about 3K you can get a Mac Pro Desktop with dual Quad core processors (LGA 771) and pretty maxed out.

If you need the laptop...then the Dell Precision series is your best bet. the Dell small business tech/customer support is slightly better than their residential side...and the next business day warranty is better than any other right now.
