I was thinking a 7950 would be fine given my budget, but which brand should I get if I have to buy it from Amazon, with no rebates? I heard XFX isn't top notch anymore, how's Sapphire? does ASUS still make AMD cards? Is there a comparable Nvidia card at this price range?

the HD 7950 is the best card at USD 300 - 330. here are a few good options.

Sapphire HD 7950 boost. built on a reference HD 7970 PCB. compatible with full cover HD 7970 waterblocks. unlocked voltage. ref blower style cooler which could get a bit loud at 1150+ mhz clocks.

You really can't beat the 7950 @ sale prices with 3 games for value. I've seen it for 260$-270$ on sale at various times.

I say spend the extra $$ on a 7970. If you wanna overclock the 7870 MYST is pretty crazy for 230$. That extra 70$ will get you a small SSD or something. Even a couple bottles of whiskey

How do I know which 7950 models include the free games?

Thanks but I don't plan to OC the card, and I'm not sure the 7970's perf advantage over the 7950 is worth another $100.

You can get the 7970 for a few more $$$ new or $300 used. I got one of mine for that price. I have also seen them go as low as $275

Well crap, my case can only take cards shorter than 10.5 in, and the Gigabyte and Sapphire are longer than that. Are there any short 7950s?
