Best 5.1 speakers?

I am lookin to upgrade my speaker system, I am going to be getting a Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1 what would the best speakers be to get for them, definatly digital surround sound ones

VideoLogic DigiTheatre DTS, if you have the cash. midiland s4-8200's are also great speakers.

If you havent ordered the sound blaster live! platinum 5.1 yet, why not go with the game theater xp instead? It's newer technology and I'm pretty sure it's much better.

anyway I can't tell you which ons are the best because I haven't tried averyone... as most people. Ihave the Creative Playworks DTT 3500 Digital and apart from their price they are excellent especially for Dolby Digital Movies Ok I know that they aren't the most powerfull for their price but why the hell would you want to blow your house with the most powerfull speakers. DTT 3500 also comes with a very nice looking decoder (for the 5.1 stuff+ volumes etc) which can change appearance according to your desk and mood.

And please help us a little by telling us your use (movies,games,music)

The VideoLogic DigiTheatre DTS are the best now, and likely to stay that way for some time. I obviously haven't seen a review of the Klipsch 5.1 but I haven't heard anything about them that gives me any reason to believe they would perform better than the DigiTheatre DTS.

The Sirocco Crossfires (4.1 version of the DTS) are both louder and more accurate than the ProMedia 4.1s, and I expect the same with the DT-DTS and the 5.1s. Of course, the DigiTheatre DTS are ridiculously expensive, you could get a pretty decent Home Theatre in a Box setup for the price (I believe the same is true of the Klipsch 5.1s which are going for $400 I think? Still less than the DT-DTS...but alot nonetheless).

And really, that's the best way to go, no computer speakers are going to stand up to a real reciever with proper loud speakers.

If you are looking for something at a more reasonable price point the Midiland S4-7100Plus and S4-8200 are both attractive packages for the prices...around $150 and $200 US respectively I believe.

I have the Creative DTT 2500 5.1 and my next set of speakers will be the Klipsch Pro Media 5.1! You can't beat those so far for the price. THe creative ones are great too so you should choose between the Klipsch 5.1 and Creative DTT 3500.

I agree on the Videologic DTS. The Klipsch 5.1 are nice, but they don't have a hardware decoder, so you're stuck with software Dolby Digital...

Can someone enlights me more about software/hardware Dolby Digital?

What software/hardware do I need?

Currently I have SB Live 5.1 Platinum and I hook it up to a Pioneer 509S 5.1 Dolby Digital receive with 5.1 speakers.

My first question is, I can't get 5.1 Dolby Digital sound through the Live's digital out. I think the SB live support 5.1 and digital out, but not 5.1 through digital out. Am I out?

So what is a hardware solution? Is that an add on card?
