Best 850MHz Thundebird motherboard??

It's been a while since I have posted here and built an Athlon system. The last motherboard I used was the MSI K7T Pro 2A for a Duron 700MHz. No problems with that board but after reading the good review of the IWILL KT133A board recently I was hoping for some valuable input. The only IWILL products I have ever used is the Slotket 2 for overclocking many early P!!! coppermines to 150MHz bus speeds (no problems there either). Usually I just go with ASUS motherboards but I have found that the MSI boards (which I ahve used for years as well) are now more stable. Sounds like the IWILL board is going to be even better. I just need some Anandtechers input:

Which of these is the best for an Athlon Thunderbird 850MHz system I am going to build:

(1) ASUS A7V

(2) MSI K7T Pro

(3) IWILL KK266-R

(4) Other (please specify brand and model number)

There was a thread saying ABIt got removed from AMD recommended Hardware. I wouldn't trust anything made by ABIT. You can get the MSI K7Tpro2-a for ~110 on pricewatch and about that for retail version (allstarshop.com)

asus seems to be the most stable next is msi for AMD, i dont like abit for AMD , there are too many "lil bug" to work out , my asus a7v133 works like a dream and is very stable , my abit kt7's have not be , not to mention abit kt7 has one of thehighest RMA ratings on the market , chose wisely , not cause of a name .. good luck

toast, you're probably best going with a kt133a chipset motherboard. none of the motherboards you mentioned have that. stay away from the msi k7tpro2-a. i am going to cast my vote for asus a7v133. but there are other good kt133a motherboards. the iwill version of the motherboard got a very good review from anand recently. but i usually prefer a good brand name like asus (the motherboard is certainly the last place you want to cut corners).

what exactly are you looking for in a motherboard? Are you looking to squeeze out every clock in your CPU. Are you looking for features such as RAID 0? are you looking for stability? I like the IWILL mostly because it's just like the A7V but with a higher potential in fsb speeds.

Stability is #1 by a lot and certainly the RAID 0 aspects are awesome

I don't know about the Kt133A systems but my ABit KT7-raid (two of them!) is working like a champ. No stabilty problems with usb and all!!!
btw, I have a 600@1000 and 600@900..

I'm curious about "motherboard stability" How do you even know if it's the motherboard to blame? It seems to me like software is always to blame.
