I get the whole parody thing. When someone faces ten people with machine guns and you kill them all with 10 bullets, well then it's parody. When you throw the gun at them and it ricochets off all ten of their heads then it is farce and a bad farce at that.

the problem with Shoot Em Up is that about half way through, it attempted to inject realism, to muck around with a plot. That's when I stopped liking it (it forgot what it was).

As for Commando, that movie is fucking awesome, I just watched it the other night, the one liners in it are so gd funny and awesome at the same time.

I love the mall scene when like, 20 cops jump on top of him and he throws them all off, lol

Then proceeds to through a fucking phone booth, hahahaha

Hmm, they should have left the real music in though. It already has that Mentos sound. Kind of ruins the novelty.

It started with the MLB 09 The Show ad with him talking to Pedroia.

Sony has really turned around in the marketing department, and they are doing everything right this time around. Really making the commercials far more targeted and actually entertaining too.

Hard Boiled is maybe the best action movie I have ever seen.

For recent movies, Taken is a very good one.

I haven't seen hard boiled so I'll have to check that out, Taken is incredible and I have already rewatched twice when I was in the mood for some ass-kicking.

Since you have never seen Hard Boiled, I would suggest to watch The Killer also. Both are Chow Yun Fat movies.

Edit:

I just watched a youtube video of the amount of people he killed in The Killer (not to be confused with The Replacement Killers) and he killed 71 people. The Killer and Hard Boiled can possibly be bought from ebay for around $20 (if you're lucky) as it was sold as a 2 pack of DVDs at one point.

I should take the time to mention that if you've seen one John Woo flick, you've seen all of them.

There will be:

1. gratuitous slo-mo.
2. doves
3. doves taking off in slo-mo
4. dudes spinning around, jackets twirling, aiming guns off-camera
5. doves taking off while dudes spin around and aim guns at each other, in slo-mo
6. Chow Yun Fat will be involved in a Mexican stand-off at some point. Brought on by slo-mo, and possibly doves.


watch one then skip the rest. it becomes tired and stupid.
